Créé par: dtd_tank
Équipe: 2023-24 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 24 mai 2023

Description
Purely hypothetical. This is if AM were to decide to move on (due to the handling of the Dubas situation). TOR trade would happen after July 1st when AM were to provide a list of teams with whom he would be willing to extend.

So everyone must know that Matthews would cost 2023 picks without question. This is not enough

Please read the description. The assumption is this trade comes in July, after the draft, when AM would be eligible to extend.

Close but not enough, kUBALIK is an expiring 2.5mil and even if he puts up his average of 44 pts, he'll get north of 4mil. Zadina is a ?, he could really be good or nothing at all. The 1st is good, but...

all in all, if Koneckny is up for trade, I think PHI would have to be overpaid, and thered be a lot of suitors and I'm not sure this is it.

What if we did Fabbri rather than Kuba, and add a mid-grade D prospect such as Buium or Viro?

worse offer.

You've got Fabbri as your 4th liner, hes a 4mil, 2 yr player not producing. And PHI has lot of middle prospects.

It'd have to be good picks and a good prospect, something PHI cant turn down. 2023 NYI 1st, a Mazur or a Kasper and maybe a bit more. Koneckny is just 25, signed at 5.5mil for 2 more years and probably his value goes up, not down, and hes the exact player you build a team with and young enough to produce through the rebuild.

He basically only talks with Leafs fans, so it's gonna be skewed heavily in the Leafs favor.

Maybe not. But I'm not sure how else you acquire a 25yo who has already been the Hart winner and runner up, and is looking like one of the top scorers of his generation. This trade would set Detroit up for years of success, especially considering we still have 9oa pick this year and Wallinder coming up the pipeline.

Fabbri having term should alleviate your concern of Kuba not having term. Plus Fabbri is better all around them Kuba.

You said you chatted with Wings fans outside of ACGM and Toronto fans on here.
Assuming those Wings fans were on Twitter, they're horrible. Saw some willing to ship 9OA+two 2nds for DeBrincat.

Would it though? We have $5M in cap under the roster above, haven't even paid Raymond or Seider yet, and AM hasn't gotten his 2nd raise...doesn't look like years of success to me.

I would buyout Chiarot the following summer for $3.67M, Vrana provides an extra $2.625M, Perron falls off for $4.75M, and the cap is expected to rise a great amount. That's around $17M in space before the cap rise.

I think it could be figured out, as you could have 9oa from 2023 join the team as Perron's replacement ($950k), give AM $2M extra, give Seider an increase of $8M, have WW replace Schenn (+1.1M), and give Ras an extra $2M. That leaves $5M to give as a raise to Raymond (suppose you could bridge him for $5M x 2) then any cap increase can be split as a raise between a backup goalie (+1.6M to 2.85M AAV) and Roy (+1.9M to 5M AAV) assuming a >3.5M rise to the cap ceiling which is lower than expected.

Nah, certainly not Twitter lol. I am very active within a different DRW community online which is fairly reputable, as some of our members are well known and referenced by the WWP community also.

I've already included 4 1sts (Ed + Cossa + 2x 1sts) and a potential top 6 player in the deal. Detroit is not adding more beyond that, though the trade could be modified within reason. Also, trading a draft pick within a month of drafting them is quite a bad look from a personnel perspective.

Like i said, i would like Kubalik, prob prefer Fabbri, but the delta is negligible. He shined in his first two years with the Blackhawks and it seemed he didn't build upon that with the Red Wings. However, he's someone I would like to see again try to recapture that magic. I also am not looking through the Torts Lens, so who knows if he would even like either one of them. Perhaps @samsoc22 is right when he says a 2nd would be better because they can use it for a younger player that better fits the mold.

Agreed I think Torts/Danny/Jonesy would rather more picks than prospects because it gives them a player THEY choose and can mold

I am not saying in addition to but more instead of the future 1st. TO would still be in win now mode. So you'd need to send other win now types. Or soon to be productive members of the team. As for the bad personnel perspective, you trading a prospect a week after drafting him doesn't matter. You got Matthews. It's worth it.
