Détails additionnels:
I get the leafs want to remain competitve, so use the futures and flip someone else, or stop trying to send Marner to Raleigh. You're not going to see the Leafs getting core pieces of a cup contender for a dude whose record for disappearing in the playoffs rivals the suspension history of Matt Cooke and Raffi Torres combined.

I'm more than happy as a Canes fan to retain these picks and prospects, for what its worth. I'm only making this deal because everyone wants to try to shoehorn Marner into Carolina, not realizing that the Canes have 0 interest in moving pieces off the roster for a dude they know they cannot afford to re-sign.

I just... listen this is all fun, but what on the gods green earth does this do for Toronto? Matthews is going to stay, Tavares is growing grey hairs, Nylander is coming through his Prime. If anyone, including Marner is getting traded, it's going to be for immediate help.

I appreciate that you sent good value in return to Toronto! I think that there are a few things that would need to be in place for this to work. 1. Toronto would have to fail to make a trade with the main piece coming back being a star. 2. I think Toronto would have to feel that they could acquire one with the pieces in return. Close to a 3-way trade.

As a Canes fan, I'm surprised you made that trade. Leafs should jump at that trade. Even if all the trade pieces don't really work out of the Leafs, it's still 11m to spend on other players this year and next.
Many Leafs will say..."You can't replace Marner." Maybe so, but Marner shouldn't be the 7th highest paid player in the league, so a good GM (not Dubas) will find better for 11m.

This guy thinks TO should do Carolina a favor. Because that's how the league works, TO always has to lose bad. He probably also thinks Pesce is still worth more than Nylander who he sees as just a 60 point small winger.

Considering this offer is basically one you might expect for a top 10 player in the league, which Marner is not, this is a damn fair offer, if not an overpayment. I mean, 2 firsts, one of which is in a deep high quality draft, a 2nd that is likely to border on a first, a 3rd, a top RHD prospect who has 1RD potential, and a decent C prospect is quite a haul for someone without term, and the inability to work out an extension, and not to mention 11mil in cap space. I get it’s not the ideal trade for Toronto, but you can’t seriously expect that you are going to get the best possible return for a guy, that assuming he won’t waive his NMC when it kicks in, would have to be dealt in the next 5-6 weeks? Besides, it’s not like the Leafs would be able to get the best possible return anyway, just because Marner has that 11mil cap hit hanging above his head, and cap flexibility is king in this day and age.

Keep on loving your own players, if they aren't providing good value for their contracts.....maybe just fair value.
You're the one with bag over your eyes, if you can't see how badly the Leafs have managed their cap,

Palhal, you’ve been out here for years dunking on players and have been calling for some of the worst valued deals I’ve ever seen. Nylander is the first that comes to mind, specifically around the time he was holding out. I get that you hate your own team but stop acting like you’re seeing something we’re not.

Have the Leafs created a situation in which it’s harder to build a deep roster? Absolutely they have, have they continued to work around it affectively? Yes, in a vacuum they absolutely have. Will one of the core 4 be traded this summer? Almost certainly, but expecting the type of value you’re insinuating is on par with your takes about Nylander however many years ago.
