Philly isn't going to rebuild over night. Yes, Tippett is a nice success story, but he is a pending RFA and another good season will put him up for a big raise at 25 years old. He is young enough to fit a rebuild in Philly, but this pushes the clock back another couple years which they would probably prefer.

This is likely pretty close for TOR in terms of value... I'm sure they'd like to have an idea over where Wahltsrom fits in to the cap situation before pulling the trigger.

I think you’re undervaluing Pageau. He’s not a cap dump, very versatile player. And Clutterbuck is expiring. Both Trotz favorites which is why I chose them. Could probably part them out and still get something comparable

I think you might be overvaluing Pageau. He's a 30 yr old bottom six player with term, making $5M a season, when cap space has never been more valuable league-wide. I wouldn't trade Trenin straight up for him, even without saddling NSH with Clutterbuck too.

You say Trotz liked these guys in NYI, but he's not the coach in NSH. Also, there's a difference between trying to get the most out of players you're stuck with, and going out and giving up assets for them a couple years later.

Well ur certainly right about it being unrealistic lol. Flyers don’t even answer the phone for that. I would love to know why we would trade a former top 10 pick that took huge steps in his game this year for a mid 2024 first rounder and a 24 year old that can barely crack the NHL in the position we have the most depth on our team

I gave an explanation in the trade description but you rushed to the comment section

I read the trade description and it’s equally unrealistic. We trade a solid NHLer who could turn out to be a very good player for a guy who can barely make the NHL and a mid first a year away. Wow really blowing the doors off with that trade. We get “younger” by a 1 year and significantly worse talent wise. Tippett’s worth more than that offer, if he goes it will be for a 2023 1st which you don’t have or multiple 2024 1sts. Ur logic is there it’s just wrong and the Flyers can afford to give him his “big raise”

Trading a player in the most valuable position in hockey for a winger is certainly a choice (that Mike Milbury would make)
