I'm open to the Mangiapane trade. His shot percentage was way above league averages two years ago, so I would suspect it would settle back to normal, but be offset by having a talented center like barzal. I wouldn't pair him with horvat. The real question is if the isles had anything the flames wanted in return.

Kylington was stellar when he played but the obvious question mark is why he was gone. I don't see teams trading for him until that is clear.

Is he really going to return to form with the same centers as last year? Part of the issue this year was that the absence of Gudreau and Tkatchuk made it much easier for opposing teams to match up lines against the flames. Maybe that changes with a new coach or new line mates for Huberdeau, but I do think it is more likely that he returns to a higher shooting percentage playing with Barzal than with anyone on the flames. His shooting percentage benefited from the flames having a solid top line, and thus faced less opposition. I agree that 9.3% isn't his baseline though.

Have you looked at Mangiapane's QOC from the previous years? It wasn't anything to scoff at. He played almost entirely on Backlunds line who always went against the opponents top line

3rd pair lol, OK so you don't watch nyr games. He's 25, like a prime Girardi or Ekholm. You means gels with a Norris partner

Ekholm is an elite two way top pair defenseman. One of the best transition D in the NHL. Lindgren is a stay at home guy with good skating + hitting ability. Not even close to Ekholm caliber

It would be interesting to see how he faired with a more dynamic center then. Unfortunately, Calgary doesn't have one and his value isn't super high at the moment.
