Dallas isn’t going to trade Marchment making the isles trade proposal null and void. Also this deal really isn’t in the isles best interest long term or the short term.

DAL would be dumb to buy high on Karlsson. The end of that deal could be a biiiig problem. DAL has a nice young core taking over, they should stick with the youth movement.

Retaining 50% won’t change the fact that Labanc isn’t that good of a player. To be honest all the trade proposals around him remind me of the Monahan/Drouin/Dadanov proposals from last summer. None of those came to fruition, and there’s an argument to be made that all three are significantly better than Labanc.

Not the most familiar with Ferraro. Is he really worth a first rounder? The sharks D was god awful every time I watched them this year so it’s hard to believe he would be worth a first. Would rather get a proven veteran

I’ve liked Ferraro since his days at UMass Amherst. I’m sure the Avs will trade a couple of second round picks for him in a year or two and everyone will be singing his praises again.

This is my concern too. He hasn't really shown that he's worth a 1st rounder yet, so you're paying for potential. If the price drops to a mid-2nd, or maybe 2 3rds, CBJ probably say yes.

I would only consider moving the first if Nico Sturm was included. In my opinion, he's one of the most underrated centers in the league. He has a great FO% and defensively he has been great his entire career. Even then, I would have a hard time taking on Ferraro since there's plenty of guys in the Jackets pipeline with "great potential" and what is really needed is 2 or 3 years of #2 LHD while the prospects continue stewing. Sturm would still be my real target in a trade like that.

Labanc still has a lot of potential but he basically dug his trade value hole deeper this year showing he plays crappy defensively even under a new coach

Replace the guy who would be the 21st forward on our depth chart with Mario Ferraro and the Kings would consider that.
