Mayfield would absolutely be my first option. Only reason why I didn’t go for him is because I know he loves Long Island and will probably re-sign there.

I’m not sure if he’s ready, but I think they will give him every opportunity to do make the team and make an impact. I don’t think it’s beneficial to send him back to juniors. Can’t go to the AHL. I’m all for trial by fire and giving him two very strong linemates in Cozens and Thompson.

Jack Quinn would be the plan B in that top line spot, moving Savoie to the third line. I like the idea of keeping Quinn with Peterka and just elevating Krebs to that line.

I like the idea of putting out an offer sheet for Will Borgen. He can play both sides. I think a third round tender gets it done.
