Josh Anderson makes too much for too long and produces too little. He is easily replaceable and has zero intangibles. He has never warrants a 1st rounder. if we were talking pending UFA at the TDL where hes only making 3 mil then I could see it. Big body who scores is great for a playoff run, but making over 5 mil with term for such little production is insane. Like what if I said Josh Bailey could warrant a 1st because he has "intangibles" and has experience? Its ludicrous

No shot the Penguins would even consider this. IMO no team is going to offer a first for Anderson. I wouldn’t say he has negative value as some people on here think, but definitely not worth a first, let alone the a first from the Pens.

Crazy cap. Anderson isn't getting traded period especially with PLD coming over. The trolls here have no clue on Anderson's value that is well over a 1st. You already see how the playoffs turns these big forwards into difference makers like the PLDs, Corey Perrys.

They'll be 2-3 teams that flame out first round and will be dying for a player like Anderson. 25 goal power forward at 28 yrs old...yeah..cap dump lol and comparing him to old man, fragile Parise. So dumb

You must have slept through the game 1s. These power forwards make all the difference. And, teams will pay for him despite the troll narrative here. The hate is simply nonsensical. But again, he's beloved in Mtl by management and other managers around the league. Everyone that slanders Josh simply shows how irrational they are as a fanatic.

Man you guys are slow... He's scored at a 25 goal pace for the past 5/6 seasons... If you want to have a knock on him, you could at least say he can't stay healthy. He makes 5.5 million until he's 33 years old, AKA the rest of his prime years. Not sure how that's a bad contract lol, but keep wasting your time chirping Anderson!

Hes young. If it wasnt for factors such as the pandemic and the bigger known fact that power forwards take longer to mature. He has never had a top6 consistent role and without PP time.

I'll talk your language with false equivalencies if youre going to bring up Zach Parise. Jack Hughes also has 1 season over 56 points in 4 seasons. That make him less than the 99 point player this season? That is your narrative congrats.

There were 129 20+ goal scorers this season. Those are players who stayed healthy and scored 20+

There were 260 skaters who had more points that Anderson this season. Yet, Anderson is getting paid like a premier player. and fyi, forwards prime years are typically 23-27, and age 30 normally proves to be the beginning of the end for forwards typically.

Come on man. Hes also a negative defensive asset. Hes been below average defensively his entire career, having just a couple of average defensive seasons.

Sample size: exists. Jack Hughes has also only improved each year and is 20 years old. Stop making bad faith arguments

Parise has more career points than McDavid so he is better! Maroon has more cups than McDavid so he is better? Binnington has more cups than Shesterkin so he is better!

Bad faith arguments get us nowhere

Only a Habs homer would think that Jack Hughes and Josh Anderson are comparable.

Yeah, if Jack Hughes regresses to fewer than 56 points in ONE future season, let alone all of them, then the analogy will apply and you'll be right. You really think that that's likely to happen?

such ignorance.... we are not trading anderson and his unique package of skills.. everyone on the team is happy with him here... he wants to be here and i wish the other gms would stop asking about him and i wish fans would know that we need his size and physicality to offset the caufields and Gally and HLP etc.. We need anderson and Slaf and Dach to provide size to our forwards and hughes is not going to trade any of them. stop crying about his contract as it is fair market value for a 20 goal scorer...

These ppl that clown Anderson constantly have absolutely no decorum, this is why i rarely post here much these days. Nonsensical irrational hate without any context. The playoffs are happening before our eyes, guys like Corey Perry (-28 regular season) are showing their value yet a 28 year old with all the intangibles in the world and well liked by every manager in the league with confirmed reports from Seravelli and Lebrun that Hughes refused a 1st @2022 TDL yet they dismiss all the facts for their juvenile bias against a player that goes against their idea of a good player in the nhl according to some metrics that change their value on a daily basis.

This thread is great at building a block list. They clearly dont know how to think critically.

tears of joy tears of joy tears of joy your only point has been "intangibles". Intangibles? What intangibles? I provided data. I gave data of him not being a top 130 goal scorer or top 260 point producer and being a net negative defensive asset being paid like a premier top 6 player. You only made bad faith arguments about Jack Hughes, despite him only ever improving and being 20 years old. You have no data for anything, only biases

This is around the same time Lucic's production will drop... at 28 years old, he scored 23 (JA scored 21), at 33, Lucic scored 10... (by the time JA's contract ends)
