I might have overpaid. But I remember him playing great on the devils. What if it was just for a second

Yotes would probably accept this trade in a heartbeat.

Thompson will not get a roster spot with Ottawa anytime soon but is a good RHD of the future, the pick is likely top 15.

Sharks still take that. I think he really benefited from being on a stacked team in Jersey. He’s been unnoticeable in San Jose and really a disappointment. Could be due to a mid season change but I’m not convinced he’s much of anything, 4th liner seems to be his path moving forward maybe 3rd line.

without sounding like a hater because we discussed this idea, im just not sure the sens are much better after that series of trades. Kind of my main reason for not wanting to trade ADB anyways, he is difficult to replace

1. Brannstrom gets less while Pinto gets more.

2. That Washington is paying more for DeBrincat than Ottawa did last summer doesn't seem fair to Washington.

3. Arizona and San Jose both fleece you.

You can probably get Zetterlund for free after SJ declines to re-sign him. He's been invisible since coming despite playing mostly with Couture and Hertl while Jacob Peterson is near a point per game with the same lines.

Andreas Johnsson was 2x more noticeable than Zetterlund before he got injured. That's saying something.

Going Cat out -> Schmaltz in is the only way I see a DeBrincat trade working. Bringing in a more cost effective top 6 winger so save a bit of cap space, while recouping some futures too. Still don't really like it, but it's the only way I can really justify it. But that money HAS to go in net. LOVE Søgaard as a prospect, but he's not ready for next year.

no, EVERYONE said that OTT riped off CHI when the trade happened so Cats value was/is more than what OTT gave CHI

Hard to say who won the Debrincat trade until we see what becomes of Kevin Korchinski.

I was disappointed getting him personally
My ideal Meier trade was Mukhamadulin Holtz and 23 1st. But with the sharks not being good this year or next I would be ok holding onto him and seeing how he plays next year with an off-season to prepare. That being said 2 2nds and he would be as good as gone if I was GM.

True, but his value took a hit this year IMO and now he is a RFA and not a player with 1 year left so that also weakens his value a touch. Don’t think you get WSH 23 1st but maybe they’re 24 1st.

What OTT should really do is key in on Boston and try and grab one of their 2 goalies, they won’t be able to resign swayman with Ullmark there so one has to go and either one could be the piece needed to get you guys into cup contention window time next year.

Don't get me wrong.

If this is what Washington is offering for DeBrincat, Ottawa should accept it without even thinking about it.

FWIW, that 1st round pick from Washington could be Connor Bedard.

Yeah he was one guy I really didn’t want, him and sharangovich who both look like flops. Grier went for quantity instead of quality which is still a head scratcher for me. I see them keeping him too or trading his rights at the draft

I'm doing my best to reserve judgement till he has a full offseason with us but I would say underwhelming at best, especially compared with Peterson
