Do you have anything to contribute, or are you just reacting to owner Pavlov's bell?

I actually wonder if there might be a fit between Colorado and Seattle involving Yanni Gourde, to make room for Wright in the Kraken's top 6 (top 9, at least). Of course, retention would likely be involved, and Seattle's not just gonna give Gourde away, but at half price Gourde's winning pedigree and 2 way skills could fit the bill down the middle for the Avs. Now, Gourde is a Kraken fave and team MVP last season, so this is largely dependent on how the SEA organization (looking at you, Hakstol) evaluates Wright's game and readiness . . . but regardless, Yanni is a huge trade chip to teams looking to contend and it seems intriguing to say the least. What do Avs fans think? If favorable, what could anyone see the return being??

I don't think Shane is much better than Newhook. And you're way underpaying Erik Johnson. Byram also probably signs for 3-4 mil

If EJ comes back that’s what he is getting and he won’t play for another team. Earl is adamant in his belief that Byram and Newhook get one year deals, personally I think the Avs try to sign Byram for as long a term as possible.

Agree on EJ. He is at the point that he'll get that type of deal or choose to ride off into the sunset (pun intended).

I disagree on Byram, as I just simply don't think a long-term deal is in the cards. It would have been had he not missed so many games, but I think 2-3 years makes sense for both sides.

On the trade, I don't think either team does it. Mr. Wright is not Mr. Right Now, and he's not some can't miss zero risk prospect. Avs say no for those reasons. He also projects better than Newhook, so Seattle declines as well for that reason (imo).

I would make a Wright trade centered around Girard, not sure Seattle has interest tho. I would also advocate shifting Wright to rhd for Seattle. Im just sayin...

I agree on EJ, he would also be the kind of guy to say hed take w.e would help the team the most(within reason). I would use your points on why Byram won't get a long term deal as points why the avs should be trying their darnedest to get a 6+ year deal under 7m. He would be wise to take that well paid insurance and down the road sign a huge deal to retire as an Av. 2 or 3 year deal works too. I would love getting both Toews and Byram locked up for under 14m combined. Might not be needed once the cap goes way up in Toews ufa year.

I have thought about this in the past (back when I assumed Seattle wouldn't be any good), but not lately. If the Kraken would give him up and with retention, then maybe something around the 2024 1st. I tend to think they won't move him though tbh.

I think he makes too much money for the Avs. The Avs NEED some young guys to continue to grow into larger roles and that’s led by Newhook.

No doubt, the money is tough. But if the offer was right, Seattle could retain 50% ($2.583 million) for the final 2 years of his deal, or involve a 3rd team and get the $$ number even lower. You know what you're getting in Gourde and the AVS want to compete. And should Colorado have or acquire young players that they anticipate are ready for larger roles, they'll likely command equal pay or better and it's still a role of the dice.

(I'll add, again, that this would be a tough deal to pull off given Gourde's value to Seattle, but I think it's worth contemplating more seriously than somehow getting Wright, as this ACGM proposes.)

Yeah sure the problem with that is COL has very little draft capital to make a 2 or 3 team deal happen because teams retaining as place holders want picks.
