There's not even a remote chance the Jets trade Dubois for less than half of what he would get as a rental.

Start with the Horvat deal and add.

Can you please refer to "Dubois value discussion" wpg agm. This will be able to explain why this offer simply doesn't get it done if Dubois is going to sign long term. Jets could get more from a contender being a rental. If Dubois is traded with some contract guarantee or willingness to sign long term the price goes up.

Explain how Calgary affords this without making them worse. It is literally impossible since every player we can trade for cap is better than Anderson, or is a UFA after this year

Dustin Wolf is projected to be Calgary's goalie of the future, so it's VERY hard to imagine the Flames trading him for that package, never mind the first and second.

You aren't trading enough for what you want mostly.

Dubois will be a 1st and good prospect at least, even as a rental.

Calgary doesn't have the space for Anderson and goaltenders never have the kind of trade value you'd need to give up to convince someone to part with one they believe in. Wolf is untradable for all practical purposes.

Hart and Konecny might be worth that, but they have no practical use for Edmondson. Fans are going to want that much for just Hart, but again, that's not reasonable for what he has shown to date.

Hoffman is never going to Ottawa. Look up the drama to understand why.

When retaining, you can show that by clicking the '+' next to a player in a trade.
For drafting you can just write it into the description and/or use the create a player function.

Yeah I’m an idiot, my thought process was that Ritchie and Lucic's contracts were done so that there would be enough space but I forgot about the Hubi, Weegs and Vladar extensions that were gonna kick in. So now I'm in a pickle. From a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you guys like Zadorov. Cause I can bring him back the other way to make the cap work.

When you add a player to the trade click the plus beside their name in the Sending/Receiving section before submitting and add retention

We only already 300k under the cap WITH Zadorov and a 18 man roster. You want us to add 2 million in cap? We can't afford Andersen

That jets deal still doesn't do it and we give up the 2 most valuable things in the deal. Try Florida 1st beck as a base to build off of

This offer for Dubois is worse than the first one. Winnipeg gives up 2 valuable pieces and Montreal gives damaged goods and poor character or waiver level players.

I know eh. In almost all of them the pick alone that the Jets are giving up is more valuable than everything they are getting from Montreal.

I keep on seeing you in these, Winnipeg will NEVER get as much as Horvat with the 0 leverage they have and PLD being worse then Horvat

Sounds like you maybe don't understand what an RFA is? The Jets have all the leverage and rentals routinely return what Horvat got.

So, it isn't even debatable that PLD will return at least as much as Horvat got as a rental. Considering that PLD is younger, better and has an extra year of team control.

If you have something to back your position I'd like to hear it as my position is backed by historical precedence and comparables. What do you have besides an emotional fan-boy response?

First of all, take a single debate class and you will know that weakly insulting the other person makes your points weaker, not stronger. If we are talking in terms of at deadline Horvat, then no PLD is not better for the simple reason of better goal and point production as well as leadership. Meanwhile PLD has had 2 instances of screwing over his team looking for a trade which is anti leadership and his point production is capped at about 65 points per year as well as Horvat agreeing to a contract ahead of time instead of all but confirming he will leave after the year. An example of an NHL trade where a team had no leverage is the trade that happened between the Ottawa Senators and the Columbus Blue Jackets in February 2019.

The Senators traded away their star forward, Matt Duchene, and minor league defenseman Julius Bergman to the Blue Jackets in exchange for a package that included prospects Vitaly Abramov and Jonathan Davidsson, a first-round draft pick.

The Senators had very little leverage in this trade as Duchene was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and had made it clear that he would not be re-signing with the Senators. Additionally, the Senators were in a rebuilding phase and were looking to stockpile assets for the future. It is true that PLD has 1 extra year of control but he has made it very clear that he is not signing if the team isn't Montreal. Meaning he is closer to a full year rental until UFA then an RFA. Having a player as an RFA doesn't mean full control 100% of the time if you already know they are gone at the end of that "control" year.

Also you made wild claims that had no proof behind them all over the place. You claim your stance is biased on historical significance and comparable but didn't give any. Most likely because there hasn't been a situation like this before.

But I've had enough of Winnipeg fans that want the stars and the moon for him so I'll just stop responding at this point.
