Im guessing you already know this but couldnt the sabres find someone as good as (as bad as?) Vladar in FA without giving up the picks?

That’s a lot for a bad goalie and 4th liner.

I don't know what pick the Sabres would actually have to send for that, but it's not a first.

Take out the second and Detroit would consider, not the right team at all.

Ruzicka's a Stud Offensively and has Top-6 Potential, especially if we can get him to be a more Physical Power Forward. It would have to be a 1st to consider moving him imo

Vladar is a good backup who screwed up his opportunity to become our starter, but with Wolf coming along and soon to come up, he's probably expendable UNLESS we can sell Wolf for a Premium Package instead

Unless we get another Big Mean replacement defender and/or he either doesn't want to re-sign or wants an unreasonable raise, I don't want to lose Zadorov. Up until recently, he has played great for us, but he's also had a revolving door of D-Partners, so take that in to consideration. Again, it would have to be an offer we can't refuse OR a move to gain quality asset(s) instead of losing him for nothing before we can/should move him. Poirier & Kuznetsov are a ways from being ready and is Gilbert a good enough replacement would be my question, but he could possibly be

If Sutter actually played Ruzicka instead of players like Lucic and Ritchie he should absolutely return a late 1st on his own. Vladar is worth around a 2nd with his extension.

Zadorov isn't a cap dump lmao. He's better than every LD on Detroit by quite a margin

Vladar isn't worth a second. Underlying numbers are all pretty bad, UPL/Comrie -esque. Better off gambling on someone in FA

Do that then. If you uave the cap space then it's not an issue but not every team has cap space and Vladar is cheap with term

I mean the deal was with the Sabres so I responded from that perspective. I mean even still, tons of cheap options in FA. if Vladar was okay then maybe.

Vladar is fine. He's a more than capable backup goaltender with decent potential.

Regardless Ruzicka holds the value in that proposal. Considering Buffalo's direction a 2025 1st should be relatively late and Ruzicka looks quite promising

vladar isn't fine. sub 900 sv%, negative goals saved above average and delta fenwick save percentage. He's just not as bad or expensive as markstrom.

Ruzicka is a 0.5 ppg 23 year old playing a position the Sabres have cemented for like the next decade. Definitely better ways for BUF to spend a 2025 first.

Markstrom is 1 year removed from the Vezina runner up. You are trolling if you think he is a bad goaltender because of 1 poor season. He will almost certainly bounce back. You haven't watched Vladar play that much I take it. Calgary is 2nd in the league for Shots Against per 60. They do a great job minimizing shots against. However that doesn't mean they don't allow medium and high danger chances.

What position have the Sabres cemented for the next decade exactly? You can literally never have too many centers. Centers can always be moved to the wing

He is not better than every LHD on Detroit by quite a margin. He would be third pair in Detroit. Obviously you ignored the last part of my statement by saying wrong team. He's not a cap dump but he's a player we don't need at all so if you want to move him to Detroit he would be a cap dump. I'm sure another team might pay a third or something for him which is what the flames paid for him. Also considering the plethora of LHD we have coming in the pipeline, even less needed. We already have 3 LHD in the NHL right now signed for next year and one or two coming up with Edvinsson and Johansson. If you want to trade Zadorov you will like find a better return from a team that need LD, which honestly it's not that many. Seems like almost every team is either set for LHD or has really good up and comers.

Curious who you think would play above him on Detroit? Walman? Thats about it but he's an OFD. Z is certainly better than Maatta and Chiarot

Zadorov is absolutely worth more than a 3rd. That is just a silly take. I also don't want to trade him at all, he's been quite good.

Yeah it worked out great for thompson when he was moved from centre to wing in st louis.

Im sure the flames do give up plenty of medium and high danger chances. And he stops very few of them
