Well there was lots of 1st+holtz+muk and this isn't really that far from that depending on what Holtz turns out to be. It's obvious Grier valued Muk more. This trade will need a year or two to fairly judge

There is nothing going to the sharks of value. That 1st is a glorified second rounder.

This return doesn’t help much, if at all. Two of those players will be gone in a season.

I value Muk more as well, maybe thats why I'm one of the few content with the trade.

If the devils lose in the first round this year it's a midish 1st.

the devils based on current standings pick would be at highest 24th, assuming that none of the divisional winners make the conference finals. And if the devils pass carolina they'd be at highest 27th (assuming boston doesn't make the conference finals)

I guess I think Meier is worth more than a maybe mid 1st.
