Cabbie's Mock v 2
I'd rather NJ draft Dickinson over Eiserman if Dickinson is available. Scoring the last 2 seasons hasn't been the problem for NJ.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Connelly is redonkulous. Very reminiscent of Jack Hughes play style.
If we were to double down on speed, position, transition…it would be great pick there. But from the sound of Fitzy…I’d bet we try for one of the power forwards (Greentree or MBN maybe) or a center (Catton or Boisvert).</div></div>
But doesn't Connelly have off ice issues? If somehow Dickinson is available to us, he's the guy I'd like the most.

I agree. I think if Matthews does get 70 in the next game though, once he hits it, he'll play 3rd/4th line minutes and then get scratched the last game. Not a lot of teams scratch their star players for 2 games straight before the playoffs because it could throw off their rhythm.

Change the 2025 2nd round pick to a 2025 3rd round pick and you've got a deal.

How’s his skating? That’s another thing that is a little bit of a knock on Holtz. He has gotten better though.

If DIckinson is available for NJ to draft, I would be ecstatic. Him or Lindstrom would be awesome for NJ to draft. Even though I feel they'll both be gone by at least pick 7.

What is Eiserman’s game like though? Everything I’ve read is he is Holtz 2.0.

I'd love Tkachuk on NJ, but its safe to say NJ doesn't have enough to get him. If it doesn't start with Hischier at the very least, Ottawa isn't taking the call.

If you guys want Mercer, that would start with Dustin Wolf and go from there. Like NHLfan10506 said, Mercer does a little bit of everything and when he's not putting up points, he brings a solid 2 way game. I wouldn't even include Mercer for Saros. The only young goalie I personally would trade Mercer for in a package is Swayman and Boston isn't moving him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>I doubt that. You are not going to get Markstrom without at least 1 of Mercer or Holtz included, and probably a top 10-15 protected 1st as well. Again Calgary is more than happy having him mentor Wolf but if the price for goalies is high then Conroy would not be doing his due diligence if he didnt at least look</div></div>
That's what SJ fans were saying with Meier who was gonna be an RFA last year and had 30+ goals in 50 something games. " It will start with Mercer/Holtz, 1st round pick, top prospect, + more. I could be wrong but I have a feeling the return Flames fans won't be to happy about.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Wtf did I just read? How many times do I have to say this. At least as far as Calgary is concerned they are not going to trade Markstrom for less than what they view as an acceptable return. If you are not willing to meet that return then they aren't going to trade him. Teams are not remotely as desperate to move their goaltenders as you are making them out to be.</div></div>
I think if NJ gets Markstrom, you're gonna be disappointed in the return. Might look something like the Meier trade where it was quantity over quality.

The Holtz Brunette connection

My thinking was more this … if Fitzy has actually made him available for Markstrom and Saros…I am guessing the extension talks with Toffoli over All Star Break may have gone well. So maybe he is now open to using him as major trade chip.
(Not advocating one way or another…just getting another look of how things could play out).</div></div>
Do you think Ruff is just giving tough love to Holtz kind of like he did his first year with Bratt?

The Holtz Brunette connection
I'd really like to see Holtz succeed in NJ. He just needs a legit shot in a top 6 spot. When Hughes came back from injury Holtz was on a line with Toffoli and Hughes and they looked great together. Then Lindy moved Holtz off that line for whatever reason. ATM I know Holtz isn't getting a top 6 spot with Palat-Hischier-Bratt playing amazing together and Hughes-Haula-Toffoli also doing great, but when these lines get into a slump which eventually they will, Lindy needs to try Holtz in the top 6 and not play him 5 mins like he did last night.

Markstrom to Devils - way to much smoke there
Guentzel to Oilers
Duclair to Rangers
Henrique to Avalanche - their will be a 3rd team involved to help lower his cap hit to Colorado
Tanev to Stars
Carrier to Canucks
Dowd to Panthers
Barabanov to Lightning
Hanifin to Leafs - same as Henrique to Colorado. A 3rd team will be involved in this trade.
Tarasenko to Hurricanes

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SJSF</b></div><div>Biggest problem for whoever trades a goalie to Jersey is that 2025 first is almost guaranteed to be in the low 20s, which isn't Jersey's fault but it makes that pick less enticing IMO</div></div>
True, but that's where you rely on your scouting department and say, " guys i got you another 1st round pick, draft us another good prospect." Or, you use NJ's 1st round pick for another trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Daws is hot now, but I think Schmid is better option long-term. I wouldn’t want to be the guy to make that decision.
Casey is a kid with local connections, that they have invested a lot into. I don’t think he gets moved easily. He also played a lot on his off-hand at US NTDP, so his options aren’t limited to 3 RD spots.
Gritsyuk’s agent did say last summer that he plans to come over (even considered it for this season if Avangard matched the offer sheet). Dan McKinnon has said the same…so I think they are on same page. (But he is the best forward on The Russian Presidents favorite team…and some have said those guys may not be allowed to leave).
I would add Hämeenaho, Vilen</div></div>
I'd be ok with Vilen. I didn't put Hämeenaho because I think NJ would try to hold onto him the most. Casey is our best prospect but with guys like Hamilton, L.Hughes and Nemec, I think we can slightly afford to get rid of him. Not easily though.

He's been streaky. I wouldn't mind re-signing him but I'd like to see Holtz get that top 6 spot next season. I think Toffoli could get 5.5mil+ in free agency easily.

trade only Tanev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WranglerWranglin</b></div><div>IF Tanev can stay healthy I could see them getting a late first but those are starting to dry up. I do wonder if the Flames package a guy with Tanev, league minimum 4th line kind of guy to up the price or actually retain on a deal for once. Could also see them just targeting a prospect stuck in a depth chart as opposed to a pick. In the Devils case, a Chase Stillman, Graeme Clarke</div></div>
Maybe Graeme Clarke and a 3rd round pick for Tanev? I think with Stillman being a 1st round pick for us, they want to wait and see what he could be.
