Clickbait. No one could take on his contract at this time of season and the Ducks aren't retaining for 5 seasons.

I hate the fact that LA makes so much sense. LA and Anaheim would never be trade partners though.

Montreal is an interesting one. Never really thought about them.

To be honest i see MTL getting in on that Action if Allen's going back
His cap vs term isnt an issue for us at all

He fits our system and makes a good tandem with Montembault who's been great but isnt a Starter .
That said it depends on the cost here.

If we can do it without any clear cut 1st round picks given up , sure we're in.
Conditional 2nd , sure no problem as long as its top 5 protected
But we wont go nuts

I think OTT is in prime position to overpay tho

What is Anaheim's depth in goaltending (i.e. 1G / 2G / 3G )?

I think you underestimate the need for a good goaltender for some teams in certain points in their franchise.

LA does make alot of sense lol but it would be hard for those two teams and maybe even the player to accept each other as a partner

Montreal could really fit, due to their situation in net

Do you watch Ducks games? Or do you only listen to what other fans say and look at the final scores.

If he were truly that bad, there wouldn’t be reports of “significant interest” in him league wide.

'It's not his fault he's putting up some of the worst numbers in the league, you just aren't watching the games!'

Ya, ok. Meanwhile fast forward a week and he'll still be a Duck. It's clickbait.

And I’m sure Vasy and Shesterkin would put up their worst numbers too if they had the Ducks defense in front of them too.

If Craig Anderson is up for playing another season in the NHL and for Buffalo, I could see Eric Comrie being expendable. if Anderson retires at the end of the season, Comrie remains with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen as the tandem for 2023-2024.

And even their worst numbers would be much better than what Gibson has been putting up across the past 4 seasons. GIbson is doing a lot to contribute to how bad the Ducks are. In other words, the Ducks are bad in part because of GIbson not in spite of him.

What? Lmao. The Ducks would barely have over 10 wins if it weren’t for Gibson. He has constantly stole games for the struggling Anaheim for the past 4 years. The last month Gibson has had three 50+ plus save games, and you’re saying he’s the reason the Ducks are losing games?? That’s laughable.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if Vasilevskiy or Shesterkin has ever had two games with 50 saves in a month, let alone three?

Does it matter? 2 or 3 games don't make a goalie. Recency bias might be telling you he's good now but meanwhile the wider 40 games he has played say he isn't. Good goalies play well every night, consistency is among the biggest attributes for a goalie. Telling me Gibson doesn't have it isn't helping your case.

He goes nowhere, he stays a Duck, we run Gibson Dostal.

He won't go to Canada and has the trade protection to stop it. If he were to go anywhere, Buffalo makes the most sense, maybe Carolina after that.

Most of the teams who'd trade for him would have to send us back a legitimate boat anchor contract (Peterson, Campbell, Markstrom, Grubauer, etc) which is as big a non starter as retaining on him.

The homer is laughable, isn't he?

You could actually present a written statement from Kyle Dubas that he's interested in John Gibson and that wouldn't change the guy's mind.

>Trying to act like Gibson is still a good goalie.
>'He's the homer'

Laughable. I get it, you're a Ducks fan. Gibson is your guy. You want him to be moveable for the team you are cheering for (see: homer). My team isn't even on the list of teams who could be in on him. He's still not worth anything.

I know Montembault did it in back to back games in MTL
That said Vasilevsky has had 2 games over 50 saves on 03/20/2019 and 11/03/22
So he's never had 3 fifty save games period .

Actually he's only had a little over a dozen 40 save games in his career.
I've never seen a goalie who faced a shot average in the 30's more consistently then Vasilevsky.

While Gibson is good i think he's best in a Tandem as a Leader/Mentor.
Which is why i think MTL fits perfectly

The point he was making is that Gibson's stats are bad due to his workload faced every night averaging over 40 sog/game this season, because he gets shelled behind a porous defense. He has recently started to trust his defense to take away the backdoor option which he's been covering himself all season, and you can see that reflective in his stats over the last couple weeks with a large boost in SV%.

So then by your logic Patrick Kane is not good because and it’s click bait because only his previous recency bias has upped his value?

You clearly pay ZERO attention to the Ducks if you think this is a recency bias. Gibson constantly has waves of games where he is unstoppable. It’s been like that his entire career.

You put Gibson in front of a team that only allows 20-30 shots and has a good defense he’s going to look significantly better than he does now.

Now that I think of it, weren’t Leaf’s fans begging for Gibson 1-2 years ago? Or was that only because of “recency bias”

How’s Matt Murray btw?
