I don't see Sakic loving Douin enough to give assets for him

Drouin would never play with MacKinnon - the Avs aren't dropping Lehkonen or Nichushkin from the top line to do that. Drouin isn't a fit.

If Drouin had any interest. They would have put him on waivers to make him easier to trade. Hes too big an injury, mental health risk to waste the cap space. No team will touch him

Honestly I could see COL giving Drouin a $1M prove it contract in the off season and seeing if he could Actually provide some scoring depth, I don’t think they are giving assets to take his contract at the TDL.

Yup. He will get a chance elsewhere. Spending assets this late on him is quite far fetched with his history

Well Avs took Malgin and he scored a nice goal last night. But I don't think any team wants that Drouin contract.

I think somebody might roll the dice but they aren’t giving up any real tangible assets and that’s with max retention. Malgin is a good example of a guy who fits stylistically well with a team he’s been a better fit than Hunt was because he is such a good skater. And that goal was really nice.

We would have to give something small to move him. Colorado would be one of the few fits for him.

Drouin does need a great goal scorer with him. That’s why MacKinnon worked so well. Colorado is so deep that they could afford to give him shifts with MacKinnon.

But why? When Landy returns they have one of the best first lines in hockey. Why change it?

They don’t need to change it. I said give them shifts together, meaning control the ice time. They could also use Drouin at the point on the PP, where he is most productive. It’s a depth of options and Drouin has shown he can make plays for the best shooters in the game before with Kucherov and Stamkos.
