Maybe I'm missing something but there's literally no way to make Kane to the Rangers work without trading Goodrow and probably Kakko too

Taking on the Goodrow contract is an immediate non starter. I would need two firsts coming back to even consider it and at that point I think it’s sunk cost for the rangers trying to get Kane.

A 3rd team retain 25%, they waive Leschyshyn, accrue cap space and do the trade on March 3rd. Or they can assign Schneider for a week but there is a way to fit Kane without involving Goodrow/Kakko (which NYR wouldn't).

That's a given but they're already 1.8mil above the cap without Kane. Which means they gotta clear out 4.5mil even with double retention

I honestly don't think the Rangers will be sending as much out as people think and I think CHI is prepared to take a smaller return.

It seems like Goodrow and Kravtzov are the most likely to move, but I don't think the Rangers will be sending anything higher than a 2nd. My guess is a 2nd, 3rd and maybe something like a 5th for the third team to retain more on Kane.

I'm very interested to see how it shakes out. I think we're going to see one of the more convoluted situations to date. I just don't think the Rangers are giving up a 1st.

Kane did publicly say he was disappointed that the Rangers kinda filled their void...Rangers fan opinions right are that a 7th and spitting in KDs eye is too much for Kaner

Lafferty is better than goodrow, also a playoff guy, and 2.5 million cheaper
