You might get Weegar for Batherson, but not Andersson, who I’d say is untouchable

CGY would also consider that 1st + JBD for Weegar or Tanev, so they could pursue Chychrun or Parayko themselves

Ottawa would never do that . Not going from a 24 year old 70pt player making sub 5 mill for the next 5 years to a 29 year old entering an 8 year deal making even more money

I agree, although I think they both have a similar number of peak playing years ahead of them. D-Men typically peak later and play longer than Forwards do

I get Andersson plays a really important position. But Batherson is similar age to Rasmus and similar contracts. And Bath played without Norris all of this year. Mostly shuffling between Pinto, Greig and Brassard

I like Batherson, the Guys a Stud Offensively and on a Great Contract but his Defensive Play and Ability to Stay Healthy are a bit suspect.

Much easier to find a Top-6 Forward than a 1RD and Andersson will play far more minutes and be an impact player, especially when the game is on the line, and for much longer than Batherson, so that’s why he’s far more valuable to me and the Flames than Batherson

We also have a Stud in Coronato coming up shortly here as well. I’d like to find the next Batherson/Josh Anderson for CGY and would even be willing to try Gauthier, Kastelic or Sokolov to do so and we have Walker Duehr and Cole Schwindt who might impress yet as well

Actually I’d like to see the Flames move Kadri to RW to act as a Matthew Tkachuk replacement. Sorry for going off topic, but that’s how we sit in regards to our RW situation

I feel Iike they should Do a Zary + cap + 1st for a top 6F type of trade. Since Pelletier and Coronato will most likely be kept. That won’t be with ottawa cuz they don’t want futures but a team like SJ or something could like that

Yeah I’d want to ship out a 1st + Zary + Kylington or Toffoli since Dube is establishing himself as a Top-6 Player right now. He has 6 Goals + 8 Assists for 14 Points in his last 13GP

If we acquired Meier, we wouldn’t need to move Kylington (or Hanifin) + Toffoli (or Tanev) till the off-season before his $8.5-9mil/yr contract began.

Mathieu Joseph got over paid on his latest contract (or hasn’t performed up to it similar to Mangiapane this year anyways), but he’s an interesting player too. Statistically he reminds me of a Blake Coleman type player

I do like Joseph. He can play up and down the lineup . Playing with Stutzle and Tkachuk without being an anchor allows the Sens to spread the offence over 3 lines

Once OTT gets their Defence and Goaltending sorted out, everyone Playing Healthy and another year of the core playing together, they’re going to be a scary good team, just like NJD has become. OTT & BUF are very close to being just as good imo

I don’t hate it. Haven’t seen enough of the three to say which I’d prefer but it frees up money and the Blues could then focus on moving Krug and really making some cap space

Most ppl I’ve heard and read prefer Lassi
