I wouldn't do this trade listed. Can't see a trade being made without a very good prospect coming back.

That being said, it's a good thing nobody on this site actually makes trades, because it would somehow lead to the end of civilization with how much of a disaster these forums are already.

Zero times on this site have I said Mercer to San Jose in a trade. Never even thought of it because he’s already on their roster and thriving.

And here we were making a fair trade over a week ago. Good times, good times!

the lowest I see is Holtz + 2023 2nd (and that is a desperate trade)
The highest I see is Holtz + 2023 1st + Muk + Other pick/prospect + cap dump stuff

If the sharks walk away with anything less than a high end prospect (Holtz in the case of NJD), it would only be a massive loss.

Gotcha, some have asked for Mercer from the start and I was surprised for that to actually be the ask.

Honestly Holtz and a 2nd is a massive loss. How do you only walk away with a late 2nd and a prospect who hasn’t hardly played this year for a 26 yo 40 goal scorer to be this year

Holtz is a VERY good prospect, tons of skill, just typical issues trying to break in on a good team, not worried in the slightest about that. I would take Holtz alone over a late 1st & 2nd.

Thank you for being able to see the quality of Holtz as an asset. I swear he's being massively underrated almost every where I see

I've been posting Meier for Holtz + 1st for probably two years now, I don't plan on changing anytime soon :P

That'd be a fair offer without a bidding war or at the draft but as a devils fan I expect it to take a 3rd piece such as Mukh/Zetterlund and depending on how high carolina goes some sweetener for making the money work

No doubt he can shoot the puck like no other but has skating issues and is one dimensional. Not playing much all year doesn’t help his development

Funny, because the only article I can recall was the Sheng Peng one where he says the sharks are asking for an A prospect or two B prospects. And then speculates what rating those prospects could be.

But suddenly that means the sharks organization wants Holtz, Nemec, and a 1st?

I'm pretty shocked they're sticking with a Mercer ask as well.
Signals to me Grier doesn't want to trade Meier (he knows his ask is going to be shot down)
