No chance the hawks say yes to the McCabe deal. first, they don't need another RD since we have 3 + Mitchell. second, we don't want 4 vet defensemen with term. third, the hawks need to retain on his contract to get to the cap floor next year and also maximizing his value.

He's awful 5 on 5 and awful defensively. The majority of his points come from playing PP1 on a bad team and getting far more PP and ice team than he deserves or would get on a good team. He isn't valued much by any team since they constantly let him walk at the end of the season. Hence he's played for 5 or 6 teams or whatever it is.

For his real value of like a 3rd, the Jets might take a look at him. If you want a 1st go ahead and try for it. As long as it isn't Winnipeg giving it up I'm happy for you if Chicago gets it.
