I don’t think NJ would pay that price but they are going to get absolutely WALKED in the playoffs. They need to seriously consider adding some muscle. You think Tom Fitzgerald didn’t ponder that when he saw Anderson drop the mitts after the hit on Suzuki last night? Anderson stock rising. 📈📈📈

Anderson would make the Devils worse and would make it harder to sign major pieces

crazy how all you guys think you're smarter than insiders. I bet you were all in the comments saying there's no chance the habs get a first round pick for chariot or a first round pick + for lehkonen last year even though that's what the exact same insiders were hearing and reporting all season long. wow you guys aren't very smart.

I'm not your straw man.

Go yell at the sky.

You keep sliding from what "insiders" were told to what "insiders" know. I haven't heard of any "insiders" saying that Anderson is worth a first-round pick and more; I just keep hearing that Hughes supposedly told "insiders" that he was offered a first for Anderson and turned it down. Until you're able to understand the gulf of difference between those two things, discussing anything with you is pointless.

The "insider" is some random podcaster (than no one has ever heard of) that said, months ago, that Devils were offering the moon for Anderson. Multiple credible reporters debunked it.

That's it.

Not a peep from anyone ever since.

It’s standard fare here: tell a fan they’re off on a valuation for a low value player and they start talking about Lehkonen for some reason.

I suspected as much.

This reminds me of the idiocy from a few years ago alleging that Florida had offered, but Dubas had rejected, some absurdedly high offer for I think it was Andreas Johnsson. I pointed out at the time that it was to neither side's advantage to have ever breathed a word about this: the Panthers front office would have been embarrassed to be known to have made it, and the Maple Leafs organization would have been humiliated to have to admit that they had rejected it, so the provenance was entirely suspect, and thus the veracity of the "report."

Pierre Lebrun said the other day the habs were offered a first for Anderson. He's a great source and its 99% not made up.

On the other hand, whatever you have to say, comes 100% out of your a** cause you don't have connections in the NHL

No one has ever said NJD offered a 1st for Anderson. So I have been pushing back on this claim.

Can you provide a link to where you’re getting that from Lebrun? Everything I’m seeing is that he’s saying MTL wants an overpay for Anderson. Nothing about NJD offering a 1st straight up for Anderson.

it doesn't say that it was NJD that offered the first. He just said one team offered a first.

Can you link that? I did a bit of digging and I can’t confirm what you’re saying. Link?
