I don't see CBJ and CHI trade going through. Simply no reason for those teams to do this. The Meier trade proposal is 100 % getting surpassed.

Mike Grier will only retain 18% on Karlsson, $4,900,000 is a major fantasy. And it isn't happening for those pieces either.

And that garbage isn't even close to getting both Gavrikov and Nyquist. You need to add a 1st. Oh that's right you gave up your 1st for Karlsson. The CBJ pass big time.

Not sure which one is the more laugh The Columbus deal or the Timo Meier deal. Either way both are outbid big time.

I agree with your assessment of the Columbus trade, but not so much on the sharks. If the returns for Karlsson and Meier were combined here that's a great return. Folks are forgetting that Karlsson is deciding where he goes. Essentially all a team is trading for is salary retention. Otherwise EK just hangs out making his 11.5 mill and the sharks can't do anything about it.

Sharks have no use for either Ceci or Barrie, And Kesselring is meh. So it's basically only the picks and Grier isn't eating over $20,000,000 on Karlsson for such a meh return.

And that Timo Meier trade is easily beaten by half of the league. And with Karlsson added there's no way Holland can give Meier 8 x $9,000,000 so Meier would be a rental only in Edmonton.

Why does CHI take a cap dump for Lafferty who actually has value?

I agree the sharks wouldn't retain that much on Karlsson, so the return won't be great since that's all a team is trading for is what I'm saying. Because of EK's nmc he chooses where he wants to go and then Grier gets what he can. No bidding war.
This AC GM is an overpay for Karlsson in my opinion. Meh Kesselring has the most points by a defenceman in the AHL, Barrie is top 10 points RD and QB's the best power play in the NHL, Ceci plays over 20 minutes a game on a playoff team that went to the final 4. Plus the picks, that's way too much for EK if the sharks only retain 18%.
But all that with Meier included and the Oilers top center prospect and a 2nd added is a pretty good haul. Barrie and Ceci will get some good draft picks for a rebuilding team at next seasons deadline

What? That's basically a trade of equals but LW for RW. I don't think you understand what a cap dump is.

I must have mixed him up with some other contract. But even still, there is zero incentive here for CHI to move Lafferty, who plays all three forward positions well, and not just one wing. In fact, his versatility coupled with his speed, having one more season at a very affordable cap hit, and being 3 years younger probably makes him immediately more valuable than Janmark.

I agree Lafferty is worth a bit more, and they both play all forward positions.
But It's very clear that "cap dump" is the trolling got ya term now, and it needs to quit being used improperly

Both sharks trades are laughingly bad for San Jose, not close at all

1st or no Gavrikov. Kulak isn't an adequate substitute and we don't want Foegele. And Olivier has actually been well worth picking up here, so we're not in a hurry to move him.
