Trade Lucic (with 50% retained salary) along with 2nd round pick 2023 to the Jets for 7th round pick 2023 (or future considerations)
[Reasoning: The Jets can either keep him for their playoff run, or flip him to another team to get better assets.]
Trade Lindholm, Lewis and Ritchie to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Alex Kerfoot, Pierre Engvall, Zach-Aston Reese, Topi Nimela and 1st round pick 2023
[reasoning: Lindholm can either be a top-6 winger playing beside Tavares or maybe Matthews, or he can also be their third line centre as well.
Trade Hanifin and Stone to the Carolina Hurricanes for Calvin deHaan, Aleksei Heinisalmi and 1st round pick 2023
[reasoning: I’m honestly open to hearing what other teams would offer to get Hanifin (if they want him): but why not have Carolina boost their already stacked defence with a former Cane]
Roster for rest of 2023 post trade deadline
Huberdeau/Kadri/Toffoli
Dube/Kerfoot/Mangiapane
Engvall/Backlund/Coleman
Reese/Ruzicka/Pelletier
Scratches: Phillips, Duehr
Weegar/Andersson
Tanev/DeHaan
Zadorov/Gilbert
Scratches: Kylington
Markstrom/Vladar
During the 2023 offseason:
Let Kerfoot, Engvall, Reese and DeHaan go in free agency; resign Phillips and Duehr and let the young guys into the rest of the roster for 2023-24 season
Hopefuls to get promoted: Poirier, Zary Heimusalmi, Schwindt, Coronato
Honestly, as a Flames fan), I hope that by the end of the season:
->I frankly don’t want the Flames to make the playoffs (I’m speaking as a Flames fan): I think that would perpetuate the mediocre cycle the team is stuck in.
->Brad Treliving must step down, he’s the reason Gaudreau and Tkachuk are no longer here and I don’t want to hear any news if Tre getting extended. Get a New GM I’ve never heard of to bring a fresh vision for the team (along with a completely different management staff).
->Ownership should not let Darryl Sutter coach for the years he’s been extended to. Fire him and get a new coach. Do I really need to reason myself on this?
->the first round picks we can accrue for 2023 draft will offset the lost 1st round pick we gave along with Sean Monahan to the Canadiens
I don't understand this.
Why are you paying to move Lucic in a scenario where you are selling?
Why are you trading Lindholm for like a 3rd of his actual trade value? And for a rental you didn't even bother flipping?

I imagine, Linholm is worth 2 firsts, Knies, Nylander and more eh? Perhaps your perceived value is clouded by your absolute homerism for the flames.
