Ducks so very easily decline, Henrique is scoring at the same pace 5v5 as Horvat over the past 3 years (18.1G per 82 GP)
He can play anywhere up and down the lineup at C and LW, PK, PP, leadership, proven winner at multiple levels, stanley cup final experience.
Henrique with half a season of retention is the definition of a player that gets a 1st at the deadline, now add on another year to and you can see where Im going
And before you say you didnt put retention, Rico is the Ducks most valuable trade chip, we have an abundance of cap space and have no other place to use it. The Ducks are going to retain and get a 1st+, it would be poor asset management to do anything else
none of those player have positive value to us outside of Steen and even he barely has value. Smith and Reilly are cap dumps in this scenario, Frederic is a 4th liner. Having to "flip" players isnt a positive either, its a firm negative as we assume risk of injury, decline in play, lack of market. If its so easy to trade those pieces the Bruins can do it.
This is a pretty insulting offer tbh, this doesnt even get Verbeek on the phone
