Ahhh yes, everyone knows the best thing a bottom of the barrel rebuilding team can do is trade away multiple first round picks.

Meier may not stick to his QO, but my guess is that if he goes to a non contending, high tax marker, he won’t be settling for less than his QO

There isnt a Credible Journalist or Columnist who suggest Anderson has anything but a positive trade value.
They do often point out no one's going to "give up the farm " for him as per Mckenzie but there's a lot of teams interested in making a deal.

Islanders were linked in a deal where they'd include Bailey to help offset the Cap
Calgary in a deal where Lucic was likely going to be dumped to make it work
NJD were linked many assumed for a package with Tatar but then he heated up and talks went dead (after 11 points in 11 games he's 0 points in the last 6 ice cold again)

Factor in Hughes basically every month as said he wont trade him unless someone overpays.
I think the only team bold enough is NJD right now as their GM has been very open about the type of player he wants and if he cant land Meier he might focus on Anderson again.
NJD are ready to use Holtz to make a move because he cant crack their top 6 despite overperforming at the AHL level they're just too deep but on MTL Holtz is top 6 easily
Plus its the type of player Hughes constantly says interests him more then picks is high end prospect ready to make the jump

Plus it kinda bone's us for PLD who would kinda complete our build
Imagine if we got 1st OA again and signed PLD

Yeah, you keep believing that if it makes you feel better. There's no credible reports that have said Montreal won't have to take back close to therange amount of bad contacts to be able to dump him.

It’s established that Suzuki and Dach are the Centres of the Future and Owen Beck has already been praised twice by coach st-Louis as a player with a great future ahead of him. So there’s your 3rd line centre. Instead of getting puljujarvi or a more expensive Meier, use the 2 first round picks to get scoring wingers.

Go on RDS, there’s an article posted 50 minutes ago saying several GM’s are interested in the power forward, including the Flames, but that Hughes has no plans on trading Anderson unless it’s an offer he can’t refuse.

There’s no us here pal, I’m not a habs fan.

That lineup with the habs blue line and goaltending is still far from playoff contention

I think you meant to say there are NO credible reports that say he has positive value. Montreal beat reporters trying for clicks maybe.

Every time you hear anyone talk about dumping Anderson they always qualify it with "obviously Montreal will need to take back a close to equal amount of bad contacts or cap dumps in dollars and term to facilitate a deal" or something to that affect.

You can't seriously believe teams are lining up to tie themselves to an anchor can you?

st-Louis has been pretty consistent regarding his assessments. I’ve watched Beck play 20 games this year and last and he will have a 10-15 year career. Just like I predicted for Ryan O’Reilly in 2008. I even called Trevor Timmins former Habs director of the draft and strongly suggested he draft O, in the first round.

Just found another article by Darren Drager (not from Quebec) saying 3 or 4 teams are interested in Anderson. Just because you don’t like him, doesn’t equate to him not having value.

Well to be honest it’s frustrating being on here because I was an assistant coach in the Q and in the O. Then I was a paid scout. I’m semi retired now but still get calls to find a specific player. I came on here at the suggestion of my oldest son to share insights from 23 years in paid positions from hockey and I get insulted by some people, yet when I go follow their posts I realize they don’t know a whole lot about hockey. So I hardly come on here anymore. Anyways all the best.

Monahan, Dadonov, Drouin yes. But in the article regarding Anderson I didn’t read anywhere specifically about the Habs retaining money on Anderson.

Any time I've ever heard anyone talk about it, they say that Montreal will need to take back bad contacts to make a trade happen. Mainly because his contract is too long to make salary retention palatable.

So, while Montreal may be able to move him he's not going to be a main piece for a valuable player.

No i mean literally every source outside Brendan Kelly reports the opposite including the 1 guy who has to know in our GM Kent Hughes who's a former Player Agent and above all else knows how to evaluate talent and maximizing it. Its baffling why people look at his cap and start crying but the reality is like Kent Hughes said dozens of times unless someone overpays he's more then happy to have Anderson here.

What non credible sources or people with opinions think
It doesnt change the facts of the situation.
Its one thing to say "i disagee with those 9/10 writers in the majority"
That's your right to have an opion 100% ,Democracy demands it.

What you cannot say however is that Experts paid to report on such things arent credible because it didnt line up with your agenda.
I dont always agree with Stu Cowan but i'd never slander him to try to make a point because in the end it means my point wasnt credible enough to withstand logic based debate.

Reality is you're naive enough to think "MTL will have to do something to make the cap work with NJD, CGY or NYI" because those were all the teams linked to him and they had little cap . 2/3 teams have been actively trying to use Lucic and Bailey to make moves. That doesnt mean MTL isnt getting paid it means the only way that team can be in a position to pay them is if MTL takes on a pending UFA and sells them off themselves. Wow that sucks right ? having to potentially trade Bailey a 2.5m with RS at his production would be impossible . .. . hahahaha

Its why Kent Hughes is where he is and we're where we are.
Hughes constantly does interviews explaining his POV and he see's situations like Monahan or Bailey as a positive not a negative as long as the price is right.
No move Hughes has ever made suggests he'll do anything but get paid way more then anyone on here predicts as with Chiarot as with Kulak as with Toffoli , ext
Even Hammond we signed for like a month and traded got us Nate Schnarr who with Condotta(Matt Martins couisn) has been a huge part of wreaking havoc vs AHL top 6 squads.
Most important Schnarr's line pounds and grinds down opponents with his winger Condotta scoring a Hat Trick last game to put him in sold possesion of 2nd in Goals on the team.
He also create's room for the smaller Teasdale and his line to destroy as Teasdale has 13 goals 8 assists in the last 20 games since Schnarr moved from Center to Condotta's wing.

My point is even the moves that seem like nothing work out to have an impact in Hughes system.
Its likely why all the first 5 rounds of his Drafter are either top 10 in their Leagues, Played for their Country internationally with good numbers or are just in Junior for seasoning almost making the camp this year . He hasnt made a bad move yet even swapping Injury Prone Cameron Hillis for Nick Beaudin who's 4th year pro and for the first time every looking like a 1st round D prospect he was in Caufields/Dachs draft class. The only negative i can think of is not firing Alex Burrows when he fired Ducharme.

As long as he's running the team i know there wont be anyone moving Anderson

Lou in NYI started that conversation
Dubas in TML chirped in
Treleving (or however you spell it) kicked the tire's after Tkachuk left
Fitzgerald in NJD has kept it alive the last 3 months or so because he's described acquiring an Anderson type feeding the speculation.

The problem with this site is the commentors sometimes focus on the 28/32 teams not interested citing "most teams wont" blah blah blah.
The point is every trade has half the league or the majority out on them and would require concessions if a deal was forced on them like this scenario these people created.

The reality is they're not focusing on the teams that are actually interested and how that would work especially long team
NYI its clearly the easiest then again NJD after this year have money to play with
CGY doesnt make sense to me past this year and TML i think their GM just kicks the tires on everyone trying to pawn off Kerfoot in a deal.

While there wont be no huge bidding war NYI and NJD do have a couple interesting pieces they could spare that would see them likely avoid giving up a straight up 1st round pick likely getting a conditional 2nd that turns to a 1st if NYI or NJD make the ECF if they acquire him. Couple in your cap move and i think Dufour , conditional 2nd and Tatar or Holtz ,conditional 2nd round pick and Bailey
