Now the big one, SJ may have to help a team out of a bad contract, but recoup assets for doing so. Reportedly Timo Meier is available for “less than” Debrincat trade which was a 1, 2, 3 round picks. Winnipeg pays a tax on that to get Meier signed, as well as dump Pionk off the books whose a defensive liability in Winnipegs top 4. A 1st, a young C prospect and a 2nd for Meier extended and dumping Pionk feels right.
