Just flies in the face of what Adams is doing.

Pagnotta never has good Intel on buffalo and got pushback from local media

True, but he's not the only one that has said things, he's just heating up the oven more the last day or so. Sabres are 3pts out of a spot. Timo would bring a bit of everything that we need. We could do this trade without really putting a dent in are prospect pool, really only hurt Terry's wallet. I know it won't happen or would be surprised but it would not be a bad move.

Would I make those trades...yes Would Adams, probably not for 2 reasons

1) don't see him parting with this years first protected or not, maybe 24's first
2) don't see him parting with Mittelstud (what was that girl thinking with that sign lol) just think they like him to much and feel he is finally progressing

I pretty much agree. And would be very surprised if anything happened. But this could really push the needle. 3pts- gonna be a fun few months.

Totally agree but Adams needs to make a move or two to show the kids he'll get them the help needed to get to a higher plateau and that is to make the playoff run. It's really just a point out is they manage to win the games in hand over the Caps. Can't afford a let down like a week and a half ago. Personally I don't wait to the TDL, rather make the moves sooner rather than later. Like you said it's gonna be a fun few months.

Yeah that minny 3 game losing streak hurt, didn't do anything with a couple games in hand. Yes agree those moves need to be made soon.

Your first sentence shows you don't look into teams prospect pools, so I will basically leave it there. Think that's a pretty fair trade for Chicago.

This is just way too much for 1 guy. Sorry, no.

Depth is superior. Spending 3 1st round pics + a prospect is a good way to deplete your talent pool.

Since Nov. 22 (which is when Sammy came back around when UPL became the starter):

BUF 17-8-3 (.661 and t-7th in the league).

We're on a playoff pace without doing anything. If anything is going to improve the team more it is another D-man or 2.

We don't need Fs. We're the 2nd highest scoring team in the league.

I just don't understand why people want to add Fs and on top of that pay a premium to do so.

Very true, but in this trade what are we really losing to deplete are prospect pool. Sabres have a lot of prospects and they have a very young team to go with that. The Sabres probably don't see 1/4 of there prospects ever hit the ice in blue and gold. And that's not because there not good or decent just because there are already young good players in front of them. Sabres could make both these trades and it really only put a scratch in there pool.

Just because we have a deep prospect pool, it doesn't mean we should give them away for 50% off.

No. Josh Bloom is a pretty good forward prospect, and that 2nd should be pretty early in the second round. This is probably the minimum they should ask for Murphy, but they should probably take it all the same.

I think it's close to fair, tweaks could be made. Think he would be a nice partner for Power.

Well to me if you say 50% of, think Timo makes up for it cause he's twice the player Mitts is.

It's a good trade and Bloom fits the mold of what I consider a "Blackhawk". BUF needs more players like him (but as noted above, we have a ton of F prospects). I'd do this trade if I'm either team.

Maybe CHI can grab a 1st from someone for Murphy, so good luck trying to get that, but a 2nd, (former) 3rd and 4th is pretty good value.

D-man of his caliber usually go for around 2 2nds, which is something I'd do as well.

Twice the player?

Mitts is 2nd the team (behind Olofsson) in 5v5 points over the past 19 GP.

Over that time:

Mitts 19GP 10Pts 54.59CF% 51.85GF%
Meier 18GP 14Pts 56.24CG% 54.55GF%

Not saying Meier isn't the better player, but is he $6mm and 2 1st round draft picks better?

Not to me and he's not helping us win a SC anytime soon, which should be the goal. By the time the team is in that range, Meier is 30 years old and probably seeing a big drop in his play.

Fantastic there playing better and helping the team, doesn't take away the fact they both were non existent for long periods. And yes Timo is twice the player Mitts is even without the scoring with what he brings in other aspects of the game.

I mean, I'd like to see the math involved to consider someone "twice" as good as someone else.

Sorry, not buying it.

I imagine 2025-26:

Meier 50 pts
Mitts 50-60 pts
Ostlund 40-50 pts
1st round pick top-4 Dman / 50 pt caliber player.

Something like that.

Meier makes sense on a team ready to win the SC this year. That's not BUF.

Sorry. 1st round picks are worth gold to me. I'm not throwing them around like candy. If Meier was "the missing piece", maybe, but 3 1sts is a lot for any player and Meier isn't "the missing piece".

It's pretty easy to grab a rental for 1 late 1st round pick. Just do that when the time comes.
