The only way Columbus says yes to Kulak being included is if the pick is the 23 first. He's got way too much term for a team who'll be cycling in its defensive prospects starting next season.

Trading a 27 year old pending UFA LHD making $2.8M for a 28 year old LHD making $2.75M for the next 4 years and a 2nd next year isn't what I think they're looking for in a Gavrikov trade. -Terrible for Arizona. I can buy that they'd be fine taking Barrie's deal back to make the numbers work, but swapping Vejmelka for Campbell is awful value for them. They're giving up the better, younger, cheaper goalie and you're giving them...what, a 1st 3 drafts away? Hard pass.

-I could see the Canucks thinking about it if they like Yamamoto; I just think they focus more on futures if they're flipping Kuzmenko out at the deadline (same with Schenn).

-Chicago wouldn't do this. Shore & Ceci are veterans that don't fit their rebuilding timeline; I can see them taking a shot at turning JP into a reclamation project, sure, but I don't think this is the package they'd want moving out Domi & McCabe.

Hawks decline. The 2023 1st gets McCabe, and Hawks will take JP and Shore if you want to make the $$ work. But Domi isn't coming along.

There have been previous AGMs that have been okay with Gavrikov trades like this, but as time has gone on and more is learned about the state of the team and our guys it's becoming less and less attractive for the Jackets as an alternative to Just Give Us The First.
