Trade Deadline with Eye on the Future

Créé par: MCfubar
Équipe: 2022-23 Red Wings de Detroit
Date de création initiale: 10 déc. 2022
Publié: 11 déc. 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
The Wings have taken steps to improve, but Yzerman is still making moves for the long-haul at the trade deadline. I expect Larkin will finally sign for $9.1 million for 8 years at some point. Negotiations with Bertuzzi indicate he wants more than Yzerman is willing to give, so Yzerman trades him at the deadline.
Transactions

Détails additionnels:

Yzerman continues his quest for upgrading the team now and into the future, and he immediately signs Horvat for $8.95 million for 8 years.
VAN
  1. McIsaac, Jared
  2. Vrána, Jakub
  3. Zadina, Filip
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (STL)

4.
DET
  1. Bourgault, Xavier
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (EDM)
Détails additionnels:
Negotiations with Bertuzzi indicate his price is more than what Yzerman is willing to pay, so he trades for a top prospect, a consistently under-performing young RW, and the 2nd round pick. The cost reflects Yzerman retaining salary on both players going to the Oilers.
EDM
  1. Bertuzzi, Tyler (2 375 000 $ retained)
  2. Nedeljkovic, Alex (1 500 000 $ retained)
  3. Choix de 4e ronde en 2023 (CGY)
Détails additionnels:
With limited options at the trade deadline due to cap issues, Holland makes a trade with the Red Wings going all in for the Stanley Cup by acquiring the gritty scoring forward and a potential upgrade in goal for this year and the future.

Canucks may trade Bo to the Wings but they would want Seider coming back or Hronek and a prospect or pick Minimum

Detroit may very well be a very ideal situation for him and the Wings but there isn't much at all exciting about that package. It would take a much better offer. Canucks would rather overpay Bo than see him go for pennies on the dollar.

The Canucks already have a ton a wingers that they are struggling to find playing time for.

Considering what Copp was traded for, and Bo being a much better player offensively, this would need to look like a 1st, 2nd, +.

And as much as everyone preaches Yzerman won't trade a 2023 1st, if he has a plan for Larkin and Horvat centering this team, then that's what it would take without question.

So none of the pieces your moving bother me at all but Horvat is gonna cost high quality pieces. Vrana can't stay on the ice mcaasic and Zadina are zero value and a 2nd is a throw in. You want Horvat your talking a 1st rounder pick, a high end prospect or 2, a roster player. Plus you better be sure you can sign him. Can't trade for him and them Yzerman pull the heavy act like with Larkin.

I don't know why Canucks fans think Horvat is suddenly a superstar lol. For one, the guys a rental and two, even if he wasn't he's not worth a young top pairing dman lol. Whens the last time a rental brought back a top 4 dman with term

The comps are there. Copp nabbed three picks last year.

Yeah and the best piece was like the 27th overall pick lmao. You got Canucks fans on here thinking they're gonna get blue chip prospects for a 2nd liner having a career season lol

3 picks and roster player. If the Wings add Horvat, they'll be in the playoffs.

Would a unsigned Horvat get Seider/Hronek+ in a trade? Doubtful and most Canuck fan's understand that. Would he get more then current offer More then likely. Smart play is to give Yzerman a chance to talk to Horvat and his agent and see what he'd sign for and see then about the return. For a signed Horvat Detriot may become willing to move one of there high end young D. But trading for him as a pure rental will still cost more then current offer would probably be a min of Wallinder+ 2023 2nd+ conditional pick (2024 1st if signs with det or like 2024 4th if not)

And Copp was a third liner. So it makes sense that the Canucks get more than what he got, especially since Horvat is lighting it up. Would think a contender hoping to go on a run will try to use Horvat's hot streak to their advantage. Canucks aren't selling their red hot captain without a good package in return

There is absolutely no point in trying to propose Horvat for Seider

Canucks decline. Canucks already have a surplus of wingers, the last thing they need is to move a centre for another two wingers in Vrana and Zadina. McIsaac is an interesting piece, but is a LHD which the Canucks don't need, and the 2nd is a 2nd. Canucks hold off for an offer that better fits their needs, specifically including a 1st and RHD or C prospect.

LOL There's no way Horvat even extended returns Seider, Hronek is a possibility with a Horvat extension. But let's not get carried away that he would get Seider. That's like Detroit getting Elias Pettersson for Hronek. Not a happening.

You're dreaming in LALA land if you honestly think, that an extended Horvat returns Seider. We'll give you Rasmussen for Elias Pettersson. So yeah it's that bad.

Yeah and Copp signed with Detroit, And all signs are pointing at the same thing if Horvat makes it to free agency. So Detroit can easily wait it out.

He's 100% untouchable, A package around our 1st and Hronek is probably on the table for an extended Horvat. 2023 1st round be top 10 protected of course. Just too deep of a draft not to.

Copp is a Michigan native. There is no comparison between the two....

What signs? Horvat and his agent have said he wants to stay. The FO have said they want to sign him. It's not so easy to up and move your family to another country simply because the Wings have cap space and a roster moving in a positive direction. There will be multiple teams in on Bo on the offseason if he even makes it to UFA. Easy to say wait it out when literally this was a s*** offer suggested and nothing is pointing to Bo in Detroit. They have Larkin to sort and other big contracts on the horizon.

Horvat also wants to get paid, And Allvin isn't paying him 8 x $8,500,000 to 8 x $9,000,000 for him either which is looking like what it will cost to sign him. If Allvin moves Boeser and Garland perhaps he can afford to resign Horvat. But as of now that's a mighty big If. As far as other teams after Horvat Detroit can offer just as much of a competitive package as they can and easily fit him with the term and AAV he'll be seeking. Horvat grew up a Red Wings fan as a youngster and there's been tons of rumblings around Detroit that he wants to go there if not resigned by Vancouver. Detroit's not far from his London Ontario home where he grew up. But we shall see when all is said and done he probably stays. This was the exact same situation as J. T. Miller and he resigned.

LOL Bo doesn't have a choice but to uproot his family if dealt, he's not going to be traded out of Vancouver and then resign back with them. And Detroit is just as close to contending as Vancouver.
