Othman was a 15th overall pick not projected for the NHL until next year. He's a year ahead of development. I wouldn't put them in the Same conversation

Byfield was a 2nd overall pick and is only 5 months older than Othmann.

LAK isn't trading Byfield. And not for that either. Just as we wouldn't trade Laffy for similar package.
Secondly since we have two first we much better draft a center from deep draft while do a hit or miss with Kakko and Laffy on the top line.
I'm not even sure there is a fir for Byfield on NYR roster.
