Barring injury zero interest from Boston. Their 4 centers are set and have 2 more centers playing wing every night if needed. Simply no use. Last thing they need is another center.

On top of that, they have 0 cap space.

-Boston isn't paying a 1st for, at best, a 3C on their current team. Easy pass for the Bruins.

-Name me the forward in New Jersey's top 9 that they would sit for Josh Anderson. Because I can't imagine a team spending a 2nd round pick on a guy making $5.5M to play him on the 4th line. If Anderson isn't pushing anyone out of the top 9, there's no reason for Jersey to make this trade.

-Dallas is already paying Esa Lindell $5.8M and Ryan Suter $3.65M this year and next to play LD1/LD2. Edmundson is an upgrade over Joel Hanley, sure, but I can't see them paying a 2nd round pick and using basically every single dollar of their deadline cap space to upgrade LD3 with Edmundson. My guess is that they aim lower for a more depth-player type of trade.

-Why would Pittsburgh do this? Hoffman is on tail end of his career and they'd be on the hook for $2.25M this year and next. I could see them maybe taking a flier on him this summer for a mid/late-round pick, but I can't picture them looking at his last two seasons, seeing that his uptick in production is being helped by what would be his second-highest full season shooting percentage in his career, AND seeing that he's currently missing time with injury (always a good sign when 33 year olds start showing up on the injury report) and say "yeah, you know what, I'll give up a 2nd rounder for that."

Devils aren't paying a 2nd for a cap dump and an AHLer. Someone else might have room for Anderson, but it's not Jersey

1. Boston and montreal don’t trade.
2. Boston has absolutely no need for a center.
3. Monahan isn’t getting a first round pick.
4. Boston has no cap space.

Just no thought given to that one eh?

How much retention on Josh Anderson? He is a $2-3m player making $5.5m. That cap space ain't gonna be free.

Monahan can play wing or centre. Assuming Boston is going to add at the deadline and go for final cup run with their current core I'd like you to name a better option for a first round pick (by itself) than Monahan at 3million cap hit

He’s just not a fit at all. Personally I’d like the bruins to do something like when tampa made waves moving a first rounder for barclay goodrow. Tanner jeannot comes to mind.

I doubt the bruins would want monahan for free. Just not a fit.

horrible take.

Show your work. How does Sean monahan make the bruins better. Pretend the acquisition is for nothing. Who’s spot does he take? How does that help? What if he reverts back to the player he’s been the last two seasons?

Think this through man. He just doesn’t fit.
