that is okay. I was trying to come up with a deal for a cheaper and younger 3LD and Kylington was the first to come to mind. Ive seen a lot of trade proposals with him in it.

Dvorak turned out to be a much better center than KK. Defensively and offensively. Not being a jerk just stating the truth. CANES wanted to be Smart ASsEs and they got what they paid for.

KK is better defensively. KK is only worse offensively because of some missed opportunities, the entire squad is struggling to hit the net right now. He will likely end the year with similar numbers to Dvorak.

Calgary would want to trade him for a winger they can effectively play in their top 9 now

I don't dislike Kotkaniemi but Dvorak is way better than KK defensively, better in faceoffs, better offensively, but Dvorak is playing with anchor players with Gallagher and Dadonov, so he won't do much prodution. He carries that line hard because Gallagher have zero hockey IQ and Dadonov is an ECHL player at that age

If you want a comparison of the players go to this link. BTW Dvorak is 60% at the faceoff.

Got to love 2 Montreal fans trying desperately to hang on to they jacked up the offer sheet by trading more for a worse player by ignoring all the stats in front of them. Lol

Paying a 1st and a 3rd and $44,660,035 for a guy who "isn't nearly as bad as everyone wants him to be" kind of proves the exact point I made

It isn’t though. Trading a low end 1st and 3rd for a good 3C who has potential to be more, isn’t a bad thing.

Montreal blew it by spinning off the picks, but taking a victory lap over your teams terrible decisions is an odd flex

The HABS will trade Dvorak at the TDL and get a 1st rd pick + a prospect so nothing is lost and Dvorak stabilized our Center position when we lost Daneault. KK would not be able to do that with all the opportunities he was given.

So a post about an offer sheet for Laf is done and all we talk about is KK. Poster didn’t do any favors with the name.

We are in year one of the extension, and in a few years KK will be an appropriately paid 3C and $4.82m will be the going rate for player of his caliber.

This narrative will never die, and it’s sad. Why does that answer have to be drawn in the first 13% of the time KK will be in a Canes uniform. We’ve barely had time to unravel the damage in development done by the Habs.

In this post, why do Canes trade for so 7m Bobrovsky? Surely their are better value out there,

Not that there offer sheet for KK was so bad, but it looks like the extension may turn out badly. We see this all the time, a GM makes a trade and then tries to justify the trade by making an extension.
Gotta think Huberneau and his 10.5m X 8 extension starting age 30, is going to be poor value by the Flames.

Why Bob? The starting market will be hot with demand again this off-season but very little as far as quality goalies. Varlamov would be my first preference but some team is likely to give him more years than they should to sign him. Talbot is the same. The one goalie is Lankinen. Likely some team Ron Francis' it and gives him a nice 4 million x 4 year deal and hopes he is more than just inconsistent. So the Canes will go the pay me to take an okay goalie that our defense will likely make into a better goalie route. The same defense that made Mrazek and Ned look like good goalies and restarted Reimer's career. Added bonus is a Russian mentor for Pyotr. Canes probably get more value out of taking him on but Im not worried about pick / prospect squabbling.

We're 2 months into the extension and his play is better than his scoring numbers. We are okay to wait this out to find out if it truly is a mistake but it is much too early to tell.
