  1. Anderson, Josh
Détails additionnels:
According to Tony Marinaro of the Montreal Gazette (whom is pretty reputable) the Devils have very strong interest in acquiring Josh from the Habs. Hughes, Gorton and the Habs are going to want a very high price for him. I know Devils fans aren't going to like the price and will say it is too high so I am just going to leave their side of this blank and ask what everyone predicts the Devils would give up. I will include mine in the comments and IF this trade goes down we will see who is closest.

Gonna change my original prediction because I forgot the Devil's had Casey as an option as well.

1st + Casey or Holtz + Johnsson for Anderson.

Yeah that looks way more realistic

NJ and National Media not picking this story up makes this seem more like some bs put out there to increase value.
there isn’t a spot for another 3rd liner in NJ anyway

If Monteal gets a package like:

Montreal Receives:
2023 first (top 10 protected)
Shakir Mukhamadullin (or another high end D prospect not named Hughes or Nemec)
Andreas Johnson

New Jersey Receives:
Josh Anderson
3rd/Mid round pick in 2023

They should take it and run.

Holtz might be in play though but Nemec and Hughes definitely would not be.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how absurd New Jerseys prospect pool is? And LA for that matter. They have assets for dayssss.

Devils prospects have value. LA `s prospects have lesser value, players like Byfield or Turcotte are projects. They are not developing and would benefit fa change in team like Dach and we got Dach for Romanov.

LA also have like 4 billion solid Right D prospects. They have Byfield and Turcotte but the list keeps going. Both LA and Jersey have insane prospect pools. Some of LA prospects (like Brandt) are playing right now. But Hughes would be playing now too if he choose to come to the NHL this year.

Don't forget Montreal's prospect pool is not that shallow itself

Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj, Kovacevic, Slafkovsky, Mesar, Beck, Heineman, Ylonen, Kidney, Roy, Farrell, Barron, Mailloux, Hutson, Norlinder, Trudeau, Primeau, Guindon, Rohrer and Tuch are all A-C type prospects or rookies making the team this year.

Yes I like their prospect pool as well. I actually think Bergervin left Montreal in a very good spot prospect wise. I didn't love the Gallagher or Petry extensions. They were able to get off the Petry extension. And they clearly have too many wingers making 3m+ but I liked where the team was when Bergervin left. I have like what has been done since he left also. I was skeptical on the Dach trade though. I really liked Romanov. I think he is a perfect 2nd pair left D. But so far it seems to have worked out for all 3 teams.

I think the Devils could use another big body in the middle six but not at the nutty price these people want. Johnsson + Boqvist + 2nd, Maybe a late first of Montreal retain 10-15% otherwise why bother wingers are a dime a dozen.

Anderson has less points and worse analytics than: Tatar, Wood, Mercer, Bratt, Sharangovich, Zetterlund

He's a 4th liner in NJ making 5.5M

Year 3 if that contract looks a lot like year 3 for Lucic, Eriksson, Boedker, Backes….

Run away.

Remember when every insider was saying the Devils were interested in Cat, Fiala, Anderson, etc this last off season and instead they went FA signing and got John Marino for Cheap instead. BTW NO insider said they were in on Marino. It’s almost like these insiders don’t understand Fitz. He puts the fillers out, Let’s GMs know who he is interested, and then pulls the trigger if the trade makes sense. Moving any one of Casey, Muk, Holtz, Hughes + a pick for Anderson makes ZERO sense.

Can everyone before making these “offers” just look at this dudes stats and contracts. Fitz isn’t a guy that’s gonna look at a guy at 5.5 thats only good for maybe 20 goals and start tossing away premium assets. Reading Canadiens AGMs are always an read. Not in a good way lol

Look, I know that points aren't *everything* but the fact that Josh Anderson would be tied for FOURTEENTH on the Devils in scoring should underline, in big, black, thick Sharpie, that Anderson would be a bottom-6 forward on the current Devils.

Their wingers tonight: Tatar/Bratt on line 1, Haula/Mercer on 2, Sharangovich/Zetterlund 3rd, and Wood/Bastian on the 4th. I don't think Anderson knocks any of those top 4 out - and that list doesn't include Ondrej Palat! Anderson would be the 6th best forward -at best- on the current Devils. Regardless of what you think his value is in a vacuum, I don't think a bottom-pair player is a guy you give up a 1st rounder AND a top prospect for.

And, finally - how do they add Anderson to the cap this year? They're already on LTIR with Bernier and have $2.8M in cap. Even sending Johansson back would only clear another $2.275M, so you're still about $400K short of affording Anderson's $5.5M. There's just so many reasons why this doesn't work - and lastly, the main reason I think it's all a bunch of garbage speculation is because the supposed "insider" talks about how the Devils resisted ponying up #2OA over the summer for Anderson, but now in November they have no problem dangling Simon Nemec as bait for Anderson - you know, the same Simon Nemec they just drafted 4 months ago with that #2OA they didn't want to move?
