Description
Timo Trade:
- Assuming BUF makes a playoff push and plans to re-sign Timo (his QO won't be signed for $10M anywhere he goes)
- Sabres get a winger with playoff experience that plays a strong, fast guy as one of the best power forwards in the league. It would be insane to watch him play alongside Tage Thompson and Tuch.

Bonino Trade:
- Bonino fills the 4th line center spot. Great defensive player and can play PK. Similar trade with Cogliano last season.
- Megna moved for cap space and to reunite with his brother

Nieto Trade:
- Nieto is a great defensive forward that can still drive offensive with his great speed. He's a vet that can help out a young Kings team.

Reimer Trade:
- Reimer is reliable, healthy, and steady in net with playoff experience. This upgrade the Devils' goalie tandem.
- Reports say that the Sharks are looking for a 2nd round pick for Reimer.

The Kings have a lot of players that are younger and better than Nieto with similar cap hits. No need to give up a draft pick or contract spot for him.

Hard to say no, but we already have Helm as our 4C, and he's been so clutch this last run. If you had any 3rd liners on the cheap (or if Bonino is good enough to play on the 3rd line, I admittedly don't watch him), then I'm all ears!

Bonino has been manning our 3rd line for the past two seasons. He's great on faceoffs and has been taking on defensive zone faceoffs to rest up our 1st/2nd line centers.

Fair enough. LAK have a pretty bad PK, so I was thinking that Nieto could help alongside having a playoff vet.

Ok ok, how's his skating? That's ultimately the deciding factor tbh.

He's never been known for his skating, but it's his stick handling that makes him valuable. He scored on our past two shootouts,

The Kings struggling PK has little to do with their forwards and more to do with their defensemen. The fact that Sean Durzi is one of their top PK options is telling.

Might not work then, Colorado's whole reason for dominance is that it's skaters are amazing (Cogliano may be old, but he's still fast).

With Blackwood coming back, and potentially Bernier, Devils can't make this trade.

Bernier is done done last I heard. Blackwood would have to suck when he gets back, and even then I think a 3rd would be more fair for Reimer.

Yep, heard the same about Benier. Too bad, I like him a lot earlier in his career. 2023 3rd instead of the 2024 2nd works with me. The ask over the summer was a 2nd for Reimer

Devils have no 2023 3rd, probably would throw in a later pick with the 2024 3rd to make up for it

I think this is a pretty fair trade. You guys get a great, young player that's coming into his prime. Sharks are looking for high-end young prospects for Timo and at least a 1st round draft pick. If not, Quinn, then who?

Yep you're right, misread the Devils page. Yep let's do 2024 3rd and a 2023 5th

Sabres get a 26 year old looking for a payday that could just go to arbitration for one year and leave. Good player but Jack Quinn is cost controlled and already looking decent after being a very good goal scorer as an ahl rookie. Top prospects are probably out of the question for the sabres along with the sabres 23 first.

Understood. Would you take the deal if Meier signs a 8x8.5? Sounds like payday is the only problem here.

I'd pass on Bonino. Avs have a plethora of 25ish point bottom 6 guys. They really need a middle six forward, ideally a 2C.

If Couture made 50-70% of that salary and was only signed for 3 years instead of 5, he'd be my dream target for Colorado

If we are trading for Reimer (I'd advocate for) wouldn't Blackwood be part of that pkg.? I mean, Fitz is moving on and not resigning him as a RFA looking for a new deal if Reimer is coming in. If SJS does not want him sell his rights.
Not forcing him on SJS, but Reimer replaces Blackwood. Otherwise we have Schmid as G3

EDIT-MB cost more than Reimer! Thats probably a no then. But I think Reiner to Jersey is smart for Devs

They won't, not only as a policy but they have the best prospect pool in the league, no reason to waste money on has beens
