I think DAL prefers just to bury and buy him out themselves. This offer is just plain stupid.

Dallas sending him to the Texas Stars only opens up 1.125 in cap space this season. Not enough cap room freed up to sign Robertson. His camp easily declines a salary of 7.4m or less. Dallas needs to move the Faksa contract. He's a 20 point guy making wayyyy to much. Nice idea in theory though.

Yes it does. Put Faksa and Dobby in AHL and we have around $9-9,5M of cap space to sign Robo, with running a 21-man roster.

I'm not sure you get a 1st out of dallas. If it did happen he probably makes Detroit's roster depending on health of guys like copp and veleno to start the season.

Trades like this never happen, even though the concept is valid. Dallas will just bury him themselves.

I think if someone offer sheets JR they can trade someone. JR has 125 points in 128 games there are only a couple of players I wouldn't trade to keep JR. If they do have to trade someone it will be below value. That being said I doubt Faksa's cap hit will be enough looking at Dallas's roster Faksa is probably the easiest player to move. So if JR gets offer sheeted then you'd have to think it would be closer to $10M forcing Dallas to make a tough decision.
