COL just dominated the Cup playoffs, won multiple different series with 2 different goalies and the team save percentage was .906. Nobody and I mean nobody is giving up a massive package for a goalie.

As a Nashville fan im pretty against trading saros because askarov could still crash and burn as a prospect and thatd leave us without a future goalie, but at the same time how do you turn down that overpay.

Wed have to trade a dman like ekholm but he should net a good positive return. The d group gets younger without losing skill and we net some picks and prospects. D group is still very strong as well

And the Avs don't need a goalie to carry them through the playoffs; their roster is built in a way that makes it possible for them to not have to pay one goalie a ton of money. They just need league-average play and the team in front of the net takes care of the rest. This is a hard "no" from the Avs.

the reason they dont get traded is because teams are not willing to give up too much for them and the team with the goalie wont accept a lowball offer. goalie trades dont happen for a reason

Take Montreal’s 2021 roster and swap out Price for Makar. Do they still make it as far as they did? It’s speculative, but I don’t think so. Do the rangers have the same success this year if you swap out Shesterkin for Patty Kane? Again, no. Goalie is 100% the most important position on the ice. Colorado’s really the first team in the cap era to buck the trend and win a cup without elite goaltending. But does Tampa Bay, St. Louis, and Pittsburgh all win cups without their goalies playing at the high level they did?

on. the. ice. maybe on the ice but trade valuewise they are 10x lower than other star players. my point is value in trades not on ice production
