One year of Meier is not worth Holtz, Mukhamadullin, 1st....at least not to New Jersey.
Holtz is a top-20 prospect with 3 years of ELC remaining. Take him off the table.
Mukhamadullin is a boom/bust prospect, but is one of our GM's favorites (probably in part because he has had to defend the pick so often...but also because the pick is looking increasingly justified). I'd take him out.
A DeBrincat comp doesn't entirely fit since Cat's production is a little higher, he is a year younger, his QO is big, but not as big as Meier's and Chicago has much more cap space in 2023 than San Jose will in 2023. Even if it did fit, I don't know how three 1sts = 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
Look at the recent comps for pending RFAs
DeBrincat (20-22): 0.89 ppg (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
Meier (20-22): 0.78 ppg (?)
Reinhart (19-21): 0.76 ppg (late 1st + Levi)
Buchnevich (19-21): 0.71 ppg (2nd + Blais)
So something like: protected 2023 1st or 2024 1st + a prospect like Foote, Walsh, Zetterlund
