Why would Anaheim Pay for wheeler?
Why would Tampa sell Havel for less than they bought him for at the TDL?

Really??? Heinola is gonna be a very good top 4 guy and has potential to be a top d in the future and can run the pp. demelo is one of the best analytical defence with a good contract and tominato is just a depth forward. What would we gotta add for you to accept?

DeMelo holds negative value to the Devils because he'd be taking up cap space below Hamilton, Nemec, and Marino. Heinola and a depth fwd doesn't do it. There's no reason for the Devils to do this if Vancouver is offering Garland.

Anaheim has lots of cap and need a another guy in the top 6 and they are in a semi rebuild but with the guys they have they might be on the fringe of playoffs and I could see wheeler being on Anaheim cause his veteran presence and he’s still putting up a point per game.

Why in the world would Anaheim, a non-contender for at least this season and probably next one, too, want to buy two years of hideously expensive 36-year-old Blake Wheeler at any price, let alone three good draft picks?!?!?

And on that note, nobody's paying even one third for Nate Schmidt's awful cap hit, either, especially Arizona, who can put the draft capital to MUCH better use.

Devils don't need defensemen that are ready for next year...with Graves and Severson on their way out, it'll be Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec. Instead of Heinola and spare parts, the Devils will be looking for one big piece in the draft likely to allow to develop the next stage of guys that will replace Luke Hughes and Nemec in the system. Having too many 20-21yr olds at the same doesn't seem like much of a plan. Not saying Heinola has no value, but doesn't have the same kind of value to the Devils where he is less likely to be part of the future plans and the Devils are better off getting something down the road.

We have veteran presence, we just brought in three guys for that. Wheeler will be 38 once our window starts to open. Those pics could be spent on younger guys with term on their contract that we actually want.
