I like Sandin and Milano. I don’t c the point in adding Kadri if they have to give up assets to clear cap space.

Montreal accepts. Assuming Habs can find a taker for any of its forward contracts, I can't imagine they wouldn't make this trade.

Leafs aren't trading Sandin - especially for that extremely underwhelming package

They wouldn’t do this trade because no one would take any contracts back, teams will know we have to clear cap to be cap compliant. Seems hard already to move someone to make some room for Dach
Secondly, why trade future when we are rebuilding ? Doesn’t make sense

No they wouldn't.

AB is a career sub .5 ppg player and barely one over the last 2 years. He doesnt move the needle.

He is sub 6 foot and sub 190lb and management has talked multiple times about making the roster bigger he doesnt fit that remotely.

Hes 25 hes not a prospect anymore this is what he is. Hes not a materially improvement on most of pur wing options in the top 6

The habs arent giving what will likely be a early 2nd in a trade for a non impact player

If you look at Beauvillier or even Barzal’s production over the past four years then you wouldn’t be surprised Trotz was fired. Players were willing to put up with his system when they were winning games. Unfortunately his system requires some combination of Pelech, Toews and Leddy. As soon as they started losing he got the boot.

So I’m not sure calling Beauvillier “a sub six forward” and a “non impact player” is fair to him. Beau proved his worth in the playoffs and I expect a return to form next year under Lambert who seems like he is way less rigid than Trotz is. Everyone in the NYI organization loves Lambert for a reason.

He has never in 6 seasons put up 50 points or even a 50 point pace. He has been sub .5 ppg in 2 of the last 4 seasons. Hes a 35-45 point player. The habs in a rebuild dont need that.

The habs arent trading assets for middle of the road players on meh deals when there are free options. We literally got pitlick who had more points than AB fpr 1.1 million, sonny milano can likely be had for less than 2.

Never said you should trade for him. Just said you mischaracterized his production.

Wouldn’t shock me if Milano to NY ends up being a done deal. His dad has been a season ticket holder for decades and he would be a perfect fit if they end up trading Beauvillier anyway.

He’s shown it in the post season. Pageau’s regular season numbers r mid too but he showed up when it mattered in both NY and in Ottawa 🤷‍♂️

Since MTL is not in a position to trade assets to dump their players (Hoffman, Armia, etc.), they don't have the cap space for it.

If youre going to give Sandin 4M+ then you might as well offersheet him and save yourself that 3rd round pick. TOR cant match something like that without significant roster changes

If you pay more than a 2nd in a trade then you should be able to sign him for cheaper

His 82 game average in the post season is 48 points and his best playoffs was a 56 point pace in less than 20 games. Thats a hot couple weeks at best

LOL. I've heard that line on this site so many times to justify a bad return for sandin... If he was going to get offer sheeted it would happen already.
