Samuelsson benched, Comrie benched, Asplund benched, UPL overpaid and in the NHL, Quinn on the 4th line, Laaksonen in the NHL, breaking up the top line, Bjork in the line up, Hinostroza and Okposo on the 3rd line, and a terrible Olofsson trade that goes out of the way to make them worse. Youre severly underestimating the Sabres because you dont know anything about this team

Olofsson is 27, probs will be entering his 30s by the time the sabers are real contenders. Fiala is miles better than olofsson and it cost a 1st and a prospect to acquire him, if anything, im being generous with olofsson.

The UPL deal is fine considering hes 23 and was once thought to be elite talent. Gives him two years at a cheap deal to prove himself, not like the cap is an issue for buffalo at the moment.

Tbh I wouldn’t make the Oloffson deal as the isles. But I’m also obsessed with stockpiling assets for Timo Meier lol.

Craig Anderson isn’t the staring goalie, but he did go 17-12-2 they can still win games. And no they aren’t tanking they are an average team at the moment they haven’t made any moves that show they are trying to lose like Arizona and Chicago.
UPL is in the AHL again this season he hasn’t played a lot of pro games because of injuries, but I’m sure he’s going to get 12-15 NHL games this season.

Anderson was on pace for 30+ wins last year but missed half the season
Comrie had the 2nd best analytics for goalies with over 25 games played
Id rather bank on Olofsson hitting 30G than throw him away for a cap dump
UPL has barely any NHL games and is still a prospect
You said theyre not contending, based on flawed logic to start, they arent playing to lose this year. Players like Samuelsson and Asplund are players that are leading the team. You have them benched. You dont know this team

If you can’t be bothered to spell the team’s name correctly I can’t be bothered to take your opinion seriously. Buffalo may not be a playoff team this year but I don’t think they will be a pushover either. Unless of course they construct their lineup the way you have here, then they’re most definitely a pushover.

Sabres will take Bailey and a 1st for future considerations.

And the isles won’t make that trade….

I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. Olofsson should have first round pick value by himself, guess we will see if he stays healthy this season. Bailey is a cap dump, and nobody is taking cap dumps these days, so that's gonna cost something good to move. Just because the Sabres have cap space doesn't mean they are interested in taking other teams problems. And just because the Sabres have some very promising young wingers coming up, doesn't mean they should just sell low on olofsson.

i dont have either making it anytime soon, but in the long haul, sabres actually have a good prospect pool...
