IF Kyrou is a must

Description
If the Flames won't trade MT19 without Kyrou here is my pivot.

Have to replace Kyroy with another RW, I targeted Necas. Necas is speedster with a good shot like Kyrou but probably won't cost as much as Kyrou the next few years so hoping the Blues could lock up ROR and Necas along with Thomas and MT19 next year. Team might take a step back for 1 year but could be better in the long run as Neighbors, Bolduc and hopefully Dickinson are ready to produce in the near future. Hoping Tucker and one of Lyle or Kessel can take over 3rd paring next year for cheap.

Moving VT91 at half price along with a very cheap Perunovich this year might make CAR the favorite in the East with their great D core and good goaltending.

The Blues would have almost no interest in Suzuki, one would assume, and they are not paying a 2nd to move Scandella or for retention or for both.

I agree but kinda feel bad for all Flames fans right now! At least MT19 is doing them a solid with giving them a chance to gain assets for him as I couldn't imagine losing the Blues best 2 players for nothing.

Kinda agree! It sucked when Petro left but Army was spot on with Faulk. Still holding out hope on ROR but VT gave us everything we could have hoped for! Pujols was also the correct move but none of those compare to losing your top 2 scorers in one off-season. Just brutal. Oh and at least you got Manè!!

But why? You have over 30 mil in cap space? 26 isn't enough? Are you contending in the 2 years you have Scandella? If it was the Blues in this situation I'd hope they'd take high draft capital for taking on money that won't hurt the cap or their chances of contending in the future.

Because a late second round pick is not enough compensation for 7 million in cap space. It doesn't matter if Anaheim has plenty of cap space to spare, the fact is St louis needs it, Anaheim has it, and St. Louis has to pay market value for it, which is more than a late second.

The 2nd gets rid of Scandella. Then you have to pay for VT retention. His point was that all that cap is worth more than a single, future 2nd round pick.

Hurricanes don't have the space. Even half retained, they'd be ever so slightly over with Tarasenko. Necas' positional needs are of far more value anyway. To get Necas, you're going to have to overpay for him. You sure as hell aren't getting him for a rental. Don't worry, Vancouver fans have heard this a thousand times with JT Miller too. This just doesn't work
