Close, but the 2nd needs to be a first, or the Jets would get more at the TDL in two years. With the 1st Chevy is likely talking.

Zero chance Dubois signs that deal though.

You are not getting better value than that at the TDL lol
Anyway MTL decline, they aren’t trading Barron

Of course they would. Dubois gets a 1st and a good prospect at the TDL in 2 years. So, without the 1st this is less as Dvorak is worth a 3rd maybe.

How valuable do you consider Dubois to actually be? Career 0.66 PPG and a career high 61 pts.

Reduced value around the league by what he pulled with Colombus and now he wants out of another team not even 2 full seasons later... and he has made it clear his preferred destination is MTL.

What do you think he'll sign for? His next contract is going to be so strange

He hasn't said that Montreal is his preferred destination, just that he wouldn't mind playing there someday.

Dubois value at the TDL in two years is a first and a good prospect, minimum. So, you would need to add to that for the 2 extra years.

This is exactly it if the jets trade him to a Florida team or another contending team in a hot state at the 2024 deadline I’m sure he would strongly consider signing there long term.

Dvorak value can't go down that much over a year. How do you think negociation for his trade went down? No one made an offer and MTL threw a 1st and 2nd out of nowhere?

Other teams were offering a 1st and another mid round pick, and MTL had to throw the 2nd to get him. So that means other teams were interested. They'd still give a 1st.

Habs need Barron more than they need Dubois so they decline this for that reason.
