Description
100% going to get shredded in the comments by canuckle heads but I just don’t see any way they will get the value for Miller their fans are expecting. Especially with what Fiala got, a guy who still was under team control and was still young. Miller is past his prime and due a huge raise.

From a Devils perspective, I have started to grow on the idea of JT Miller in the top 6. I think he would excel on Hughes or hischiers wing and would be a leader in the locker room. Is he worth 2OA or Holtz or Mercer or even our 1st next year? Yeahhhhhh no.

Highly doubt these teams could come to an agreement regardless, just wanted to see what it’d look like and my personal valuation of Miller

I know canuckle heads will think this is scraps but Gritsyuk is a top 5 prospect in the devils org and the best forward prospect behind Holtz, Bahl is a giant 6’7 Defender who is on the bubble of emerging onto the bottom pair this year, and Boqvist really found himself last year and is showing the top 6 potential he showed when he was drafted.

I think this is a pretty fair offer but I understand y’all truly think you can get more

Canucks easily get more and Miller will want more money. Gritsyuk is nice but the rest of the package lacks the quality needed

Not going to get into the trade but if Miller wanted that contract he'd already be extended. You have to bump it up to 8.5 x 6 at minimum

just here to confirm that if that was the deal Miller takes, he'd have an extension in place with Vancouver.

And yeah, I'd like to think they would find a trade with a better center piece

Sorry, I think it's at terrible idea to have a young player in the same organization as his GM father.
Might be fair deal for Miller but do the Devils really want a 29 year old Miller for six years?

NJ says yes to that Miller trade. We'll even drive from NJ to Vancouver to pick him up. No plane involved.

You're gonna have to give up one of Bratt, Holtz, or 2OA

I can personally guarantee you will never get that value for Miller.

That’s fair, tbh a long term extension for Miller scares me and I think many teams as well, I don’t see him getting more than 6 years, you are probably right about him getting a higher aav though.
About the centerpiece, it’s also understandable, I think there are better are teams willing to ante up 1 or more high quality assets,I don’t see the devils being one of them though I do feel the offer I placed is fair, I still doubt it’d be the best offer Vancouver gets

Can you rank the order in which NJ would move these assets?

#2 Overall
Holtz
Bratt
Mercer

Maybe go most likely moved, to least likely moved. Obviously, this isn't in a Miller trade, just wanna know who is the most available compared to least available.

Honestly it's not a bad offer if the Canucks decide to go quantity over quality route but that 2nd round pick would HAVE to be a 2023 1st instead.

Actually very similar to the Taylor Hall trade at the deadline from NJ to Arizona. Which happened to involve Bahl as well.
NJ got back:
1st (drafted Mercer with it)
Conditional 3rd (traded it for Siegenthaler)
Bahl
Shnarr
Merkley

You would definitely have to up the Miller contract. Probably 9mil minimum if it's a 6yr deal.

The whole point of this forum is to debate these very things. Until it happens we are all just guessing. No one is right or wrong.

I personally think they'll get a better return than that but it will involve mostly better quality but less of it instead of more quantity but less valuable ones.

Lol. Canucks counter with Poolman, ferland and Jett woo for jack Hughes. Since woo is near the top of our prospect list according to you that means he has insane value so should easily be accepted by jersey.
