Description
Based on Hughes history as a GM in MTL to date.
I think he'll walk away with a deal a little better then this(likely another piece on each side)
But this is my Prediction on what the price tag will likely involve

I also predict Shane Wright will start in MTL next year
He's on a rebuilding Junior team and we dont want him learning losing habits
We are just as happy to avoid the Shane Doan Effect as i call it where losing culture becomes acceptable and being a pro hockey player is as good as being a Champion.

By Trade Deadline i expect Dadonov ,Byron and Wideman to be moved as Rentals along side Poehling who has until years end to push Evans out as they're playing for one job now that Wrights in the picture those endless opportunities are now ending

  1. Bellows, Kieffer [Droits de RFA]
  2. Pánik, Richard
  3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (NYI)
Détails additionnels:
-13th OA pick
-Legacy Player RFA entering his Prime Years
-Capdump straightup

This would be the biggest trade Lou woulda pulled off in NYI marked as a clear win value wise. Which is largely why i think Hughes will also fleece him given he traditionally takes less while Hughes has gotten overpaid on all his trades to date.
NYI
  1. Anderson, Josh
Détails additionnels:
-MTL agree's to take Panik Capdump to play DSP role in Laval this year hopefully helping them make a strong playoff push again next year or maybe he makes camp this summer for MTL and we trade him at the Deadline

NYI Gets to upgrade on what both Bellows/Panik offered for about 1.5-2m more then both woulda made playing for NYI this year.

You are referring to deadline trades, which are naturally going to return a lot if there's a competitive market for what you have.

The only TDL i spoke of are the ones specifically mention as TDL
The rest are made now as indicated by no further emphasis on a future date as clearly marked above with the other Trade's i spoke of but never made as to not be forced to have this type of conversation

I only mentioned the TDL deals because if i dont the "what about the tank for Bedard " group will stone me to death hahahaha

Yup and this is based on what Lou has done as a GM to date and how his trades break down
This isnt the deal i'd make or you'd make or Joe Blow would make

As i said Lou has a history of Overpaying and getting low return value back
He builds solid teams no doubt but as far as a Trading Partner people treated MB with more respect then Lou

That said Hughes has gotten way more then anyone on here predicted on every trade
Remember how much Weber was suppose to cost to move?
He got a player 2nd only to Suzuki in production last year for Weber when no one though that could happen

So a 13th OA pick and a player who could maybe get a 3rd on the open market seems kinda like a steal for Lou based on his past deals

Oh I was referring to where you said Hughes has been traditionally overpaid on his trades so far as a reason why you expect Lou to get fleeced by him.

O snap
Yeah in the Context you got me
We havent seen what he can do outside the TDL and what leverage he can flex

MB was great at off season deals but come TDL boy did he blow chunks
Hughes verywell could be the exact opposite
I dont think so but only time will tell on that one

He was a good player agent though, so he knows how to negotiate but all I was saying was that part of it is circumstance too. I don't expect him to make any awful trades yet.

From your lips to Gods Ears
Lets hope not

First time i've been impressed with a GM ever
I was too young to appreciate how good we had it back when Serge Savard
Hughes i'm hoping can be the guy to build us our next Cup Team

I actually believe Anderson should be part of that Cup team too
I just think after Toffoli blindsided us that anythings possible when a GM gets focused on a player.
CGY fixated on Toffoli cause his coach wanted him as he won a title with him before
This time NYI is in a similar situation cause of success on the international stage this time

I think most GM's woulda said no to the Toffoli offer not seeing the same value Hughes did as he's very open about being ok with losing as long as we're developing youth in a winning culture that never stops trying. Most Gm's wouldnt call that good enough and view losing a piece like Toffoli or Anderson without a roster piece back in the near future as endangering their jobs.

Well he's new so he does, have leeway in making moves/deciding which direction to take the team in. Probably why the pirate GMs won't try to come after him yet.

I would feel bad for Beauvillier if he ends up in MTL and feeling like he has to negotiate against Hughes, ofc it would be his Agent's job to do so, but it might get uncomfortable at some point.

Panik buried counts for $250k against the cap. Calling him a dump is generous. This is still the 13th pick plus a decent prospect/flier player for an often hurt Anderson. Isles should pass and I really hope these reports are BS

What the hell are you talking about? Go make an Isles ACGM and put Panik in the minors. His cap hit to NYI is $1.375m at the NHL level. Buried it counts for $250k with $1.125m coming off the cap.

His original contract was for $2.75m AAV. 50% of which is retained by Detroit when we acquired him last summer.

He counts for $1.375m for the Isles cap while in the NHL. $250k when he is in the minors. You are so incredibly wrong it's painful

Considering you've commented on multiple other ACGMs since my reply I'll just assume you realized you were incorrect about Panik and plan to ignore me. I was just trying to help you with your rationale on the trade and you took a real arrogance to it eh?
