The Ottawa trade isn’t so good, Connor brown is not a good replacement. I’d go for a different team and I understand there getting a first round out of it

I don't think it would be the worst. He can get around 20 goals, good defensively, and he'd be a decent upgrade on our special teams which struggled. And from what I understand he's a good locker room guy which is what Guerin looks for. But #7 overall is the prize here.

Detroit passes, Yzerman isn't looking for a rental LD, He wants one with 2-3 years of tern left. Like Alec Martinez, Marcus Pettersson or Nate Schmidt.

I dont mind Brown but I feel Fiala for futures just makes more sense. I would rather give that roster spot to a Chaffee or Sweeney who we may be able to get on the cheap for multiple years. Move Gaudreau up with Kapri and Zuc and Throw Hartman with Rossi back on the wing. Or just leave it and Have Gaudreau there or something. Bottom line is in my opinion we just dont need Brown. Not like we have much chance at a cup anyway. No point in aiming for a first round exit. Not sure I like the stanley trade either

that's why I went for #7, its honestly the best future asset we can possibly get. While Brown also at least can be a solid replacement, be a good linemate for the young guys, and he can help push for the playoffs which I think should be Guerins goal as long as Kaprizov is here. Worst comes to worst if the season goes down hill you probably get a first for him at the deadline. Not a terrible situation.

Yeah for sure. Your idea isn't bad at all. Just not the direction I would go. Which is fine. That's the point of this platform to discuss different perspectives. The constant Blank rejects just makes this platform more and more unbearable for me tbh.

I agree! Just explain my reasoning behind the ACGM. The offseason can't come fast enough!

This is something I can see happening. Brown is a versatile, top 6 player, and at 1.8mil he'd be a huge add for Minnesota trying to remain relevant and competitive in a year with some pretty tough cap concerns. He can help them be competitive, and if they fall out by the deadline, NHL GMs will be foaming at the mouth to add him at the deadline. He's not going to replace Kevin Fiala, but he's also not meant to.

Yea I honestly think that this could be a fair deal if Dorion puts his nuts on the table. I would be pretty happy with this as a Wild fan.

Then put that it in the notes section, or you're going to get feedback.

From an Ottawa perspective it kills two birds with one stone. Ottawa is obviously in the market for an impact winger, and it sounds like Brown could be moved this summer as well. Doing both at the same time would be very tidy work for Dorion.

I'm gonna take this trade and make a post to see what this looks like from an Ottawa perspective. Think it looks very fair.

Brown is worth a 1st + 2nd

He has been the most used Sens forward for 3 straight seasons (and now there's real competition compared to his first season in OTT), scores like a 2nd liner (0.61 PPG), mostly at ES or PK while matching up against other teams top lines. 2nd in TkA last season, received Selke votes on a rebuilding team... He's not Fiala offensively but he's extremely valuable

I don't think you can "replace" Fiala and get a 7th OA pick in the process.
