Umm my comment may have come off as a little harsh and I apologize for that but I was considering more than hockey. Spurgeon has a young family and they are growing up in Minnesota. He's not gonna uproot that when hes already set for life making tons of money. To be honest I am barely considering hockey in this discussion. Obviously nothing is certain but why sign for that long into your late 30's with a full no move and become the captain if you intend to even consider leaving. I frankly dont care about the state of either team to be honest. This is just my analysis of the situation but perhaps saying you cant speculate is harsh. Your welcome to thats the point of this website. Cheers :)

Spurgeon has a full no move anyway. So there's no point in speculating what we know wont be happening because he is certainly not waiving.

Full rebuild
Wow ok this is a lot. basically nothing here makes sense for anyone but the sharks. To be specific I can answer at least my part and let the gang do the rest. So Minnesota cannot afford labanc whatsoever so that's just dead and cold. And the Arizona deal is ridiculous like how is the difference in contracts between that kassian bad one and vlasic's albatross a 5th into a third???? That makes zero sense at all. I guess the sharks look a little better (maybe?) in this ACGM. So just drug all the other gm's and this will work fine. (NO HATE PLEASE I JUST SPEAK TRUTH IM SORRY) The detroit deal is also just insulting like wow.

Next Year
I like what you have done here for sure. No big moves like for Boeser which would in my opinion be next to impossible. For me if I wanted to change something im not sure if the killorn signing is the best idea. first off I think a player with 51 points and 20 goals in 67 games would almost definitely get more money than that. And the wild just dont have the money to be splashing 5ish million on free agents. for me i think Addison will be traded (Due to him not playing post deadline) and I wouldn't mind bringing in someone like Soucy to play for a few years as a stop gap for Lambos, Peart, Faber and O'Rourke. Other than that its solid :)

Montreal laughs at this unfortunately. I like the Soucy idea though. Could be a great option for us if he signs for that. I also have a feeling the Addison relationship might be deteriorating past the point of no return but we shall see.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>Think a 2nd gets him?</div></div>
I could see it but this is a a youngish right shot defenseman with pretty good offensive upside. The price will probably be a little higher but I would say the range is like a high end second to like a later first plus prospect. Where it will land will be determined by the market. he does have concerning defensive issues which will be a factor aswell. Long answer short: Im honestly not sure.

Strange Idea
While I fully believe Addison is in the dog house and will be moved this summer, I dont think this is the deal. Risto has like 4 years left on his deal and he is not a good player analytically or production wise. Makes more sense to just get picks for Addison which you can be used in whatever way Guerin sees fit. Wild just cant take on cap with the buyout penalties increasing. Faber, Peart, O'Rourke and Lambos are all guys who look promising and we just have to be patient and wait for them. We may just get stopgaps this season if those guys aren't ready. We shall see

Bro what even is that wild trade? There is literally zero incentive for the wild to make that move. A top 4 defenseman for a bad contract and a 5th. brilliant. Sorry chief but this just really isn't it.

Pt2 realistic offseason Please comment thoughts
I think Paul will make at least 4 after the playoffs. Not saying he is definitively worth that but if he leaves Tampa some Gm will for sure overpay him after his performance. That's my take at least. Not sure i like the sanford deal either. Could save 750k with some plug or something

Look I dont pretend to be an expert on the devils. I still stand by the point im not sure that defense gets you deep in to the playoffs but for sure I may be wrong. Now if the aim is to simply make the playoffs then for sure its probably fine. That simply comes down to organizational expectations. As for Slaf I would be surprised if he doesn't hop straight in to the nhl with international and league experience playing against men. though again that comes down to the organization once again. Just giving my honest opinions. Cheers.

But Maybe It Could Work For Us
Oh boy. To be honest im not quite sure what im looking at with this ACGM to be brutally honest. First off why are Arizona and Seattle Bottom Feeder teams Paying to acquire players. Seattle needs prospects not a veteran winger. Arizona doesn't do this because they want to weaponize their cap space and get value back for taking not great contracts. And as for the fiala offer its just not enough at all really. I mean even if you think Fiala is gonna get a garbage return this doesn't check many boxes if any for the wild. You need to actually play ball to get an asset like Fiala at the very least. Overall im just really confused at the thinking for everyone but new jersey tbh. Maybe Edmonton accepts but im not even sure about that. And even for Jersey im not sure that defense can lead to success in the playoffs but who knows. also what the hell did you do with #2? you gonna draft wright/slaf and not play them? seems really odd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DollaDollaBillKirill</b></div><div>that's why I went for #7, its honestly the best future asset we can get. While Brown at least can be a solid replacement, be a good linemate for the young guys, and he can help push for the playoffs which I think should be Guerins goal as long as Kaprizov is here. Worst comes to worst if the season goes down hill you probably get a first for him at the deadline. Not a terrible situation.</div></div>
Yeah for sure. Your idea isn't bad at all. Just not the direction I would go. Which is fine. That's the point of this platform to discuss different perspectives. The constant Blank rejects just makes this platform more and more unbearable for me tbh.

I dont mind Brown but I feel Fiala for futures just makes more sense. I would rather give that roster spot to a Chaffee or Sweeney who we may be able to get on the cheap for multiple years. Move Gaudreau up with Kapri and Zuc and Throw Hartman with Rossi back on the wing. Or just leave it and Have Gaudreau there or something. Bottom line is in my opinion we just dont need Brown. Not like we have much chance at a cup anyway. No point in aiming for a first round exit. Not sure I like the stanley trade either

Regardless of Value Fiala gets paid more than 7.2 in my opinion. I think the issue for Minn is while mayfield is solid he is a ufa next season. They definitely wont have the money to sign him after the season so now the price for all that they got back for fiala and addison is most likely two late ish 2nds a 3rd and Holmstrom. The wild just cant trade for win now pieces with the cap crunch while also trading away one of their best forwards. It just doesnt make sense to pretend it isnt a step backwards.

Forget Value the wild just cant afford this. They will definitely not be retaining money when they already have such a high dead cap hit. They are taking on money in this deal. It just makes no sense for them at all to consider. I think the value is fine if not too much for one year of dumba unless there is an extension but it just doesnt work out financially. It also makes no sense to Acquire the one way contract of duhaime to just scratch him. thats not enough to dump mrazek either imo. Overall im left confused by this GMing. Dont mean any offense

3 way if fail wants out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jzooks37</b></div><div>It makes zero sense for Minnesota as team just entering there window and establishing themselves as a cup contending team to take a big step back and trade a very impactful forward for future assets such as nj pick or a 1st and prospect. however his name is all over the media as a guy to be moved... if they are looking to trade him the best package they could get is a high impact defenceman (like a Chychrun) or forward(liane) or a haul of two or three very solid players at a low number who can help them tremendously for the next several years.. I think its crazy to think this three way deal will come to fruition... however, its not far fetched to say they will get hual of guys along the lines of Anderson armia Dvorak and picks if the retain/money is right</div></div>
The window was shut the moment the wild lost to the blues. Wild can still be a good team next season but keep in mind they are paying more than 15 million in cap space for nothing. They cant add salary by trading fiala for pieces to win now. Trading for futures and looking to be a team ready to explode when those penalties come off the book is the only real way to move forward. Wild have to wait for Rossi, Lambos and Wallstedt to be ready and mold themselves into a younger team with a superstar like Kaprizov. adding a young high end prospect that can develop along with those guys is in my opinion the only way to move forward. Sure wild could try to patch the boat but where will that get them a couple first round exits? You just cant be a team competing for the cup with those cap penalties. I think Guerin sees this aswell which is why he did the buyouts anyway.

Yeah highly doubt Min does that. Value just isnt there for middleton for me personally. He looked real solid last season with spurgeon. Guerin also said in an interview when asked about if he was returning he said "definitely yeah" so its not impossible but very unlikely imo.
As for the rest its just weird. The Toronto trade is just bad for Edmonton. Holl is meh and honestly giving a shot to someone like a broberg makes since and Pulju is still young and decent. Just a negative trade. The rest besides the buffalo deal dont make a whole lotta sense for the other parties. Paul probably makes more than that as well
All in All not the worst armchair gm but just feel the ideas aren't very concrete or positive for all parties.

Does Fiala really fit
Fiala is an interesting player. Can look like Mcdavid Lite (Super Lite) at times but also goes very cold. Thats just how he is, hes an up and down player. Now do I think he fits with stutzle? i think players of that caliber can fit with just about anything. Hell fiala's center this season was freaking frederick gaudreau. But IMO im not sure hes really what ottawa needs if we are gonna look at the team itself. The defense (People can praise prospects all they want but we just dont know until they reach The nhl level) and goaltending are bigger issues for me with the senators long term. I wouldn't do a trade for Fiala if i was ottawas general manager because you have enough high end talent and skill. I think someone like Perron on a 2 or 3 year deal would be better overall. Vet with playoff experience and scores clutch goals. I think patience should be the way forward for Ottawa's forward core imo. Im interested to see what they do as someone who watches a lot of Sens hockey

Realistic Offseason
Wild trade is interesting. Drouin is interesting because he has played center in the past and god knows MN needs those. Not sure if enough is going back to the habs though. I feel they at least aim for a mid round pick (At least) with the 50% retention. Trade would depend on who the wild move and cap space but I like the player. Doubt Montreal does this though. May as well just keep him for that price and move him at the deadline hoping for a bounce back year.
