So you need a team to gift you a good goalie prospect, and need three teams to agree to take on contracts? That's unlikely.

All more likely than BG giving Fiala away

Don't need the goalie prospect. Wild have one and they could sign a cheap UFA goalie if Ottawa declines.

The Kulikov deal has been agreed upon in several past trades.

Jost for a 3rd has been proposed by other fans. I saw just on this first page a Flyers fan had their 3rd for Jost.

Middleton... If worse comes to worse, they could just not sign him.

Im not gonna say it its not possible But if you want to be good. Good Luck. Hartman and Rossi as your one-two punch down the middle is not great for next year. That's No knock on Rossi but he's a rookie and Hartman is a great player buts he no number 1 Centerman. There's not Enough Breathing Room, what if Fiala is asking for more. Kaprisov didn't sign for 5 years to suck.

Trading 2 guys you traded for this season and getting a goalie for league minimum, not having a full roster, and having 100k in space?

Very compelling.

I think this is a funny considering you literally proposed Fiala+Addison for #13+Beauvillier earlier today. How was that for solving the center issues?

If Fiala is asking for more then Dumba is traded. This opens up the door for bringing back MAF as well.

I mean if you're cool letting Talbot play 60 games and trading all your depth to ice Shaw/Duhaime/Cramarossa and still not have a full lineup, then sure the WIld have leverage

This is the most complicated of the scenarios given that Fiala, Dumba and Zuccarello are on the roster. Becomes much easier when you consider that Dumba can be traded. Zucc's NMC turns to a 10 team NTC this offseason as well.

But go on about why the Wild should take some **** offers from New Jersey for Fiala.

A mid-first and a good prospect like Foote or Gritsyuk is sh*t? Okay.

yes, and I said they would need more moves. I was proposing the idea of Beau and he is cheaper than this fiala contract allowing more room to get something else. SO You replace Fiala With a Cheaper Version and can Get a good young player with 13 OA. Also, have more cap space to use on a center

Neither one of those prospects is that intriguing. Both play a position that Minnesota doesn't need. Playing the waiting game for a Russian is something I don't see Guerin wanting to do in this particular case. He's going to want an NHL ready center or right handed right wing and a 1st as a bare minimum. In the Devils case, it'd be something like Holtz+2nd.

I would love for you to extrapolate which center they would be targeting with all this new found cap space. Cause if I am being real, there's gonna be about $3.5M cap difference between Fiala and Beauvillier (for a guy who put up 51 less points than Fiala this year).

Your proposal left Minnesota with $4M in cap space and a roster with only 18 players. With a full roster, that's averaging $800,000 for those 5 players.

Explain the next moves. I'd really like to know how Minnesota could upgrade their centers in that situation.

Foote is a fine prospect but for a talent like Fiala that's an absolute joke if you think that and mediocre 1st is good compensation. Look at any player on your team that is capable of putting up a PPG and not being paired with Jack Hughes and ask yourself if that's reasonable. You're kidding me if you think that lol. None of you are even capable of giving up a guy like Holtz, that hasn't been able to crack your non-playoff line up. To grow as a team you need to deal a high-end prospect

If we’re moving Holtz, it’s for Cat, Tkachuk, or Pasta.

If the price for Fiala is Holtz and that won’t budge, we’ll wait for the Wild to make a decision on how much the arbiter awards lol

Yeah it would be stupid to do that

A 3rd round pick doesn't accomplish much now, and might not even do anything down the road.

Matt Murray is way too injury prone (he's barely healthy 50% of the time) to allow the Sens to trade Gustavsson now. If anything, Gus should be part of a duo with Anton Forsberg for the next few years while Mads Sogaard continue to develop

In 2020-21, Gustavsson played during the stretch where the Sens defense was NHL quality and he has shown he could be a quality starter. His numbers in 2021-22 weren't good because the Sens defense was atrocious again

A 3rd round pick would be very bad value though. He could be worth much more than that in the near future

Yay for a 22 man roster with 3 FWDs and 1 d-man that have no business in the NHL. Can't wait to see this team when Spurgeon, Brodin, and Talbot all take their yearly mandatory injury leave throughout the season.

I think O'Rourke and Shaw will be pushing for a spot. Other than Cramarossa, who exactly are you talking about?

Rossi is not a NHL 2C, at best he's a 3W (which he can't be with Fiala re-signed). Shaw doesn't have a NHL game. Cramarossa isn't even a good AHL player. O'Rourke needs time in the AHL. Plus MN already has 6 NHL d-men signed and a 7th as a RFA that will be signed.

MN has no leverage with Fiala. They've underpaid him, given him with junk linemates, and the GM has talked trash about him. Fiala can just nope out by taking the team to arbitration and forcing the team to trade him before the hearing, take a 1 year deal, or let him walk.

Fiala has all the leverage, not MN. Fiala can easily kill any of these the dream trade scenarios Wild fans come up with simply by saying he won't sign anywhere longterm. MN is then looking at a Reinhart type of return.

We don't need Rossi to carry the play. He'll be between two NHL regulars and I think he will fit in just fine. I think he's going to be in that spot regardless of if Fiala is on the team or not.

Shaw wouldn't be the worst 4th line wing in the league. We could go out and sign a couple league minimum players and he would probably be a better option.

Cramarossa is just the pressbox guy. I don't expect him to see much NHL time.

O'Rourke is a cheap option for the third pairing. Minnesota probably needs to trade at least 1 or 2 of Dumba/Kulikov/Middleton.

Fiala hasn't done anything to suggest he would torpedo his trade value. I personally think he would love to play next to Nico Hischier next year. I also think it's dumb from the opposite side of things to potentially lose out on a current 30+ goal 80+ point winger that wants to play for your team because the piece that team wants in return *could* be a 30-40 goal guy some day. But that's just me.

Fiala hasn't said he'll sign longterm anywhere (including MN) either. The ball is in Fiala's court, not the Wild's.

As far as NJD. They could just as easily think their hometown boy Johnny Hockey wants to come home. They get to have their cake and eat it too, so to speak.
