Detroit declines. currently in long term mode. If we were contending for a playoff spot, this would be something to think on. But right now, age plays a huge role in decision making

Interesting. Been seeing a lot of trades made on here to basically get rid of Hronek from Detroit fans. Mind explaining to me the general opinion on him from Detroit fans perspective at the moment?

Ill say it again I like petry and if he had 1 or even 2 years left I'd do a deal but 3 for that cap at his age is a lot. He looked good at the end of the season why even move him?

It's very possible they don't, especially with his what he said during his end of the season press conference. Despite that it was pretty clear before hand he wanted out of Montreal to be closer to his family in the states. It really just depends where he stands with the team and if management decides it's not worth it to deal him.

We're surely not trading Filip Hronek for Jeff Freaking Petry that's for sure. If he deal Hronek it will be for an upgrade at 2C or for a top 4 LD not for Petry.

NO MORE PETRY TO DETROIT TRADES

Lmao I understand the frustration guys. This is ACGM. A million people post fake trades on here a day. If there's even slight rumors about a player going to a team it is safe to say we can expect an exponential amount of X player to Y team to be on here. It's not that serious! Nobody knows where this guy will go at the end of the day and we don't have to pretend like these simulation trades have any merit or are really happening lol.

Gotcha, I've just seen many trades involving Hronek departing for only a pick or 2 on this site for the last few days so was curious on what you guys expect for a return. Is he on the outs for the team or are fans just underselling him and being dramatic?

I doubt Yzerman trades him solely for picks, He'll be dealt in a bigger package for a 2C or top 4 LD possibly along with out pieces.

I assume they draft Wright and try to ice a competitive team and not rebuild so petry would be good for that

Other teams fans love telling us that all our players have no value yet they obsess about acquiring them for basically nothing. Bertuzzi. Larkin. Hronek. Nedeljkovic. Suter. Zadina. They act as if Steve Yzerman is a complete moron. That Tampa team who'll be playing the Rangers in the ECF are 8 wins away from a 3-peat. Yzerman had a lot to do with that.

I agree to an extent. Definitely draft Wright and as far as Petry goes it really just depends on if he reconciles being in Canada again the next season or 3. Even if he is dealt, Hughes has already stated that he would have to be replaced by a veteran D to fill his role. That being the case, the only logical Petry trade for MTL would to get some type of asset back to help the rebuild, otherwise just keep him.

I think you've misunderstood me. The ACGM's that I have seen are coming from Detroit fans themselves. This is why I'm curious on his current value.

The only Petry to Detroit trades coming from Red Wings fans that I've seen are of the mocking/sarcastic variety. I've said many times on here that Petry can be traded. Just not to Detroit. "He's from Michigan" isn't a good enough reason to acquire him. I think a team like Dallas would give up a 2nd for Petry if Klingberg leaves in UFA.

Yeah, forget about Petry to Detroit. I'm only asking for the value of Hronek. This was not made for the purpose of mockery or sarcasm.

I'm not talking about you per say. It's each day on CFACGM where Petry Mania runs wild on here. Why is Detroit his only option?

As for Hronek, I don't believe Yzerman is actively shopping him. But like Zadina, I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded at some point. Seider quickly took over the #1 Defenseman role and Hronek seemed lost last season.

He's overrated by some Red Wings fans but he's underrated too. He's somewhat of an enigma. Some games he's very good. Other games he's very bad. But overall he's still a top 4 Defenseman and Yzerman isn't going to just give him away for nothing.

His value is all over the place really. No matter what I say it is 100 people will disagree.

That is probably the minimum CHI would take for Strome. If things come down to the wire, and they really want to move him, I guess I'd be ok with it. Better than letting him walk. But I think he is worth a substantial amount more than that and would probably better serve CHI on the roster and/or maybe raising his value for a TDL trade.

I have not seen Detroit fans trading away Hronek. If there are some they are likely ridiculous AGMs and not from rationale people. I've made a few Hronek trades myself but that's only to either get a nhl ready centre or good prospect that will fill that hole in the future. Hronek is very valuable to Detroit since we have no one to fill that hole left by him. Hronek is an offensive guy that has some deficiencies in his own end but he is still quite young and has room to improve. If I remember correctly he was Detroit's leading scorer two seasons ago. On terms of your trade proposed it would likely have the second going the other way just based on age, contract and potential. That said Petry doesn't fit our timeline, would he be a nice piece for sure if the price was right, but likely he goes to a different team that values him more. It makes more sense to play the younger players we have now.

Also good on you for not overreacting to the Detroit fans ripping on you. We see dozens of these a day and Habs fans usually get absolutely ridiculous in response, so much respect to you for that.

Thanks for the informational response. Completely understand that viewpoint on Hronek, it's almost identical to Habs fans perspective on Petry but his term and age sets him apart. Seems there is a lot of interest from GM's for bigger RHD currently since apparently Tyler Myers is getting attention now. Who knows what that would mean for guys like Petry or Hronek but if I had to guess based on Myers rumors they'd most likely fetch more than people may think on the current market. Only time will tell!

Completely understand. I don't mind passionate fans! Montreal probably has the worst of them wink. I only do these to spark discussion and learn more about other team's players.

I could see Yzerman taking calls on him, like every gm should do about every player in my opinion, but I don't think he's being shopped unless he has other deals in place, like possibly a Petry trade.
I've made deals like Hronek to Dallas to replace Klingberg for Stankoven and a couple of seconds in return and that seemed to be good with most of them. I also added Petry to Detroit but only paid a third and Habs fans weren't to happy but really he's older and has big cap hit. Also Habs are actually in a difficult cap situation right now although some fans seem to not realize it.

I suppose it purely depends on if Chicago see's themselves walking away from his QO. If that's the case, better to get something for him than to lose him for nothing. Would not shock me to find out other teams offer more than a second for his rights though regardless.
