Sign Forsberg and Trocheck to reasonable contracts until they hit age 32

I think Habs can get actual value for Petry somewhere else, more precisely a team that is closer to contend than Detroit.

? what do you mean such a good team? They had 74 points this szn.
If you're talking about promising, sure! They have two great future talents and some upcoming prospects. So does Ottawa, Montreal and Buffalo. But not all these teams will succeed. They still need to develop and manage into playoff teams.

Detroit doesn't need another RHD right now. Plus it makes for a rebuilding team to give up 4 assets for a 34yr old defenseman.

SevenLeg is right you should be looking for a team closer to contending.

Adding Petry, even for free, makes zero sense. Way too much money and term left for a position (RD) Detroit has ZERO need for.

No thanks on Jeff Petry, he can go elsewhere.

Your UFA signings are way too low. Filip Forsberg gets anywhere from $9,000,000 x 7 years to $9,500,000 x 7 years. Vincent Trocheck wants $7,000,000 x 7 years according to Cane fans. And Braden Holtby gets at least $2,500,000 x 2 years. Hellberg wont play in the minors. So no use in signing Hellberg and Holtby it's one or the other.
