I’d imagine with how valuable a commodity Murphy is (good defensive right shot d locked up on reasonable contract) you could get him for a first without taking back two cap dumps. A team like Buffalo could easily give you that.

Wouldn’t say he’s a cap dump. He’s looked pretty decent in the playoff games I’ve seen. I think he’s more of a luxury the leafs can’t afford. Kinda in the same boat as Kerfoot who I see leafs fans trying to trade all the time. Their cap situation is gonna be pretty tight with bringing back Campbell now that his price tag has settled back into 4.5-5 mil with the way he’s played this playoffs. Leafs also need to resign their depth (Kase, Mikheyev, Engvall, Blackwell) and even just taking that 2 mil and giving it to lyubushkin wouldn’t be a bad idea, I think he’s been pretty good for the leafs this season, now I’m also a Habs fan who hasn’t been nearly as invested in these guys as you, so you could have a very different opinion than me. I just think $2 mil on a bottom pairing d is a luxury the leafs can’t afford.

He's a top 4 rhd who is 6'4 and can play big mins if needed and can PK. If the leafs move him, even if it's because he's a luxury, they're gonna get value for him.

If the hawks were just getting a second to take on Zucker I might agree, but IMO downgrading the third to the 5th is not needed and Chicago rejects.

The blackhawks probably won’t take on Monahan's contract and retain half of Toews, teply and a 5th to gain a 2nd that could unlikely be a first.

I think if the leafs valued Holl the same way you do they wouldn’t have healthy scratched him to begin the series

Just because he got surpassed on the depth chart doesn't mean he has no value. Does that mean liljegren is a cap dump? Sandin? Robertson?
Hell, it's not even the gms decision, it's the coaches, and frankly he's not a very good coach

Lol. That “report” was 1 reporter asking Keefe why he started his worst defenceman in a game in Tampa. To which Keefe replied with “who’s our worst defenceman?” .. that was the reporters opinion as to who the worst is, that’s not a report of anything. Lmao.

Lmao.

Keefe has been great in this series actually. Consistently outcoached Cooper in every game except game 4. This isn’t his fault.

What? Cooper has outcoached the pants off him, especially with the last change. Keefe has kept doing the same dumb things he has for years, the difference this year is the team is healthy and they are getting goaltending

Lol. They’re not getting goaltending.. open your eyes and watch a game. Keefe isn’t doing the same thing, he actually got Matthews away from the matchups very well in Tampa and that’s what led to Matthews being dominant in game 6. Campbell hasn’t been good. The stats speak for themselves and he consistently gives up weak and untimely goals - that’s on Campbell to be better and has nothing to do with coaching.

It's always fun when someone tells you to open your eyes when they clearly haven't watched a single game of the series

Lilgegren Robertson and Sandin are all on ELCs so they’re essentially the cheapest labour you can have in this league. Thought Lilgegren was pretty good down the stretch with Gio, Robertson’s been hurt I think, and the only time I’ve ever seen Sandin was when Corey Perry made him look stupid in game 5 last year. But ultimately if they though Holl was a good top 4 d man he wouldn’t have been scratched so much down the stretch and dubas wouldn’t have gone out and acquired another big right shot d to push him down the depth chart. Wait not all leafs fans are sold on Keefe? I thought they all loved the guy. Interesting. Regardless tonight’s the night they break the curse and finally make it to the second round. Tampa’s looked old and slow all series and bad luck and officiating cost the leafs game 6

If these are the deals Kyle Davidson starts making it's gonna be a much longer rebuild than necessary. Hawks lose put on all these trades minus maybe the kubalik trade
