What blackmail does Yzerman have on Vegas? Keep Lindstrom, acquire Schmidt with a mid round pick.

Vegas will buy people out before they make that trade.

That Winnipeg trade is terrible for Detroit. Schmidt for a 3rd or 4th straight up is the cost. Lindstrom is criminally underrated.

Vegas just isn't going to do that, yeah they're over a barrel on cap but they can weasle out without moving Theodore.

Exactly, this is a major overpayment...

RHDs are in far greater demand than LHDs and they get the better pick. An age gap of 6 years is more the enough reason not to make the Winnipeg trade. That Vegas trade is so lopsided it sits on the line between hilarious and insulting.

I just dont like the Schmidt for a 3rd straight up. Lindstrom just doesnt really have a place in detroit with all the young defenseman. He would be better off going somewhere else and getting a different look

I agree with Vegas.. but at this point they might not be able to put a team on the ice next season with the contracts they have. They need cap relief and their options are limited when 80% of their high dollar contracts are NTCs. Plus players are not going to waive those clauses at these ages to go to teams who cant contend. Therefore, hands begin to get tied. The Eichel trade was a nail in the coffin. They might play next season with 10 fwds and 5 D all year in 2023 if they cant move some contracts.

I agree, but only way to weasel out is to get someone to void their NTC. didnt work on Dadonov. Right now it will be interesting to see who is "injured" when to stay under the CAP.. This was just an idea to pull a robbery and Yzerman is way better than what we had in Holland before.

Dekeyser played over Lindstrom this year. Hes not getting any better and we have more defensemen in the pipeline. He looks lost out there, like a junior jonathan Ericsson without the size. For the things he does right, he does 2-3 things that cause problems by not being in position. The only guy under him on the 2022 team was Oesterle.

True, and they are heading in that direction... The problem with buying out players is going to be the CAP retention... They cant afford to buy players out...

Have you watched the same guy??? He had a handful of bad games ALL year and DeKeyser got played over him because he is a LHD and Blashill is a fool... also, the kid is young, there will be some growing pains... I'll just agree to disagree with you, because your opinion of Lindstrom could not possibly differ more than mine...
